“August, just keep your eyes closed while I have words with my friend…and I use that term loosely, Lex,” Eminem says, shaking his finger at Lex. “You’re walking a very thin line.”
Lex shrugs, unbothered, and then reaches back to my hip as if to make sure I’m fully behind him, and then asks, “Why are you here?”
Eminem, or Em, replies, “You were blathering on and on about me being neglectful and we made plans to hang, remember?”
Lex arches an eyebrow at him. “That was tomorrow. Not today.”
Em glances at August and Lex sighs. “August, I thought you managed his schedule better.”
August shrugs. “I didn’t know about this until we were on our way over.”
Lex mulls that over and then straightens up. “Well, as you can see, I’m in the middle of something important. Say hello, William.”
I just blink at them over his shoulder but can’t manage to say anything. I’m equal parts mortified and turned on by just being this close to Lex. I can smell him, and feel the body heat emanating from him. I run my lips across the skin of his neck just to taste him.
I need to get my fill since it seems he’s cutting me off as soon as I leave.
He trembles a little as my tongue peeks out and draws a line across his shoulder blade.
“Oh, hello there, William,” the tattooed man says and my tongue slips back into my mouth as I’m jolted back to reality. I have to keep it together. We have company. And I’m still naked, licking Lex like an animal.
“I’m Emery, Lex’s best friend. And let me tell you, Lex never has visitors. He has a rule about it, actually. You must beveryspecial.”
Lex stiffens a bit against me. “Shut up, Eminem.”
“I don’t think I will. You’re parading your penis in front of my boyfriend in that sexy underwear. So, this is revenge. Where did you get that, by the way? I think August would like it if I bought some. Babe, without looking at them, don’t you think I’d look good in those?”
August just blindly nods.
Lex sighs, and says, “Wow, you suck at revenge. You always get sidetracked and never follow through. And I’ll send you the link. Order a size medium.”
“Why thank you, and do not use my ADHD against me. You know it’s just how I am,” Emery replies and then tugs August toward the door. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Lex. Nice to meet you, William!”
Lex chuckles a little, but it’s cut off abruptly when Emery blurts. “Oh, and just so you know, Lex has cameras everywhere. Beware!”
Lex grumbles under his breath as my eyes suddenly dart all around the apartment.
The door snicks shut behind us and I stumble out from behind him, my hands covering my crotch.
“Is that true?” I ask, feeling equal parts infuriated and turned on. Why is it that the thought of Susana watching me is revolting, but with Lex, it’s…something else entirely?
“Oh, don’t mind him,” Lex says, waving his hand around in the space between us. “I’m just…security minded.”
“Did you record this…did you recordeverything?”
Lex’s eye twitches again and my cheeks flame.
“Oh,” I say and scramble back toward the bedroom, rushing to put my clothes on.
