He isnotadorable right now. All this blushing on that pale, freckled skin of his is not endearing.

It’s ridiculous and obnoxious.

I force my gaze away before I do something completely in character. Like flirt.

“Now, if you could just shoo, I have work to do.”

A fucking poet. That’s me.

“I work better without…distractions,” I tack on.

He nods and pushes away from the desk, standing abruptly. He towers over me, and my eyes once again travel to his dick. Sorry, not sorry. Those two little orbs have a mind of their own. There is no controlling where they land.

“I should be done in a few hours. Then I’ll be out of your hair, and after today, everything will be done remotely on my end.”

He nods, eyeing the wall behind me. He wets those pink lips of his and they practically glisten.

“You won’t need to come back at all?”

“Nope.”

“I see,” he replies. “Well, thank you for your time.” He moves past me andmy god, he smells like caramel.

And if you know anything about me, you know I have a slight obsession with anything sweet.

If he was literally anyone else, I’d lick him from dick to lips right here in his stuffy office. As it is, I’m sweating and trying to keep my tongue from lolling out of my mouth.

But no, I will not do any such thing with this man, especially not with how he treats Brenda.

You mess with her, you mess with me.

Smell as good as you want, William. I will not be licking you.

As soon as the door shuts behind him, I can finally breathe. His scent still lingers, but I push past it. I am not a dog in heat. I can function despite it.

I didn’t expect to have such a visceral response to this evil man.

I shove my hand in the pocket of my work bag and pull out my secret weapon. A little camera that most people wouldn’t even detect. It rests so innocently in the palm of my hand as my eyes take in the large space.

Where, oh where should I put it?

I snicker to myself.

I’m going to enjoy watching this asshole.

A few hours later, my work in William’s office is done. It really didn’t take me long at all. I made sure all the computers were working and configured correctly. He also wanted video cameras installed in the hallway and sitting room. I don’t know why, and I didn’t ask because most of my concentration was spent on making sure that the tiny, hidden video camera in his office was working.

He doesn’t know I put it there and he’ll never find out. I’m just that good.

I lope out of the building with a whistle, feeling pretty damn good about myself.

Yes, I know that hiding a camera in his private space is morally questionable, but what the fuck ever. Let them write “morally questionable” on my tombstone.

I won’t deny it. I live in the grey.

I glance down at my phone and pull up the video feed. I immediately see William sitting at his desk holding the card I’d left on his table. He flips it between his long fingers and then runs the back of it across his bottom lip before shoving it into a drawer, almost like it offends him. Wanna bet that’s a metaphor? I’m the one he finds offensive. It’s probably because of how I look. All my tattoos and piercings make a bold statement and boring people don’t like that. They prefer to fade into the dreary wallpaper of their ordinary lives.
