Page 48 of Always Him

The lights are pulsing around us, in time with my heart, the beat thick and heady as it pumps beneath our feet.

My dick is thick and long, pressed against him, rubbing, aching.

“Finn,” I groan against his lips, feeling overly flushed and warm.

But then the haze is pierced and slowly starts to fade when I feel someone moving against us. My head turns along with Finn’s and I seehimstanding right there.

The guy from the coffee shop.

Goddammit. Of course it is. I couldn’t make this shit up.

His eyes are on Finn, his lips turned up in a sensual smile, his body moving smoothly and sexually.

“Hey,” he says, the word carried away by the noise around us. Finn moves away from me, his hands slipping from my waist, and he smiles back at him.

“Hey,” he replies, leaning down toward him. My hands tighten around his neck, still not letting go. Just holding on.

He’s mine.

Mine.

The guy’s eyes move to where Finn and I are connected, and he cocks his head.

“This your friend?” he asks.

Finn nods and reaches back, unclasping my hands from his neck. They fall to my side, tingling and cold.

Why did he do that? He’s never done that before.

“Landon, this is Archer,” Finn says.

Well, shit, he even has a badass name. And two legs. Motherfuck.

I wave at him with my empty hand and then stuff it into the pocket of my sweatshirt.

“Nice to meet you,” I say, forcing a smile onto my face.

Archer flicks a wave at me and then leans toward Finn, saying something into his ear, something not for me.

I suddenly feel incredibly alone in this crowded space. Because Finn’s going to leave me to go off with barista guy.

Finn, who is pansexual. Finn, who likes men.

Who likeswholemen.

I shift and then awkwardly fling my hand out to the side.

“I’m going to…go. I’ll go over there,” I say, feeling my throat tighten and my eyes sting. I turn on my heels, half-expecting Finn to follow me, hoping he will. But when I make it to the drinks table, I notice that he’s still with Archer, faces tucked close to each other, talking animatedly. Archer, with the nice hair, and the white teeth, and the cute clothes.

My heart sinks, just crumbles to the floor.

I’m being replaced.

I should just leave. I should go.

That way he can flirt without me awkwardly looming, watching.

I pull out my phone and open a ride app, not wanting to bother anyone with driving me home. I’m not far, just ten minutes away.
