Rolling her eyes but with a slight smile on her face, Nova handed over the books she was carrying but didn’t respond to the snide comment. She did think it was odd that Cain needed to complete some paperwork for the resort just as she was leaving but shrugged it off. Nova stayed quiet as they rode the elevator up. It hadn’t occurred to her that by letting Lottie carry the books for her she would bringing the woman into her room.
Lottie scoffed as she stepped off the elevator. Nova turned to see what her problem was.
“Trelin,” Lottie nodded at the concierge.
“Lottie,” the man responded, pursing his lips with a look of disgust. Nova was intrigued, there was obviously some history between the two of them.
“Ms. Bryant, let me assist you. No need to have dregs escort you.” Trelin took the books from Lottie leaving her standing in the hallway while she gritter her teeth.
“See you around, I guess.” Nova called over her shoulder as she entered her room.
“What the hell was that, Trelin?” Lottie sneered when the concierge appeared a few minutes later.
“Do you even know who she is?”
“Yes, I do.”
“So, then you know she is the next thing to royalty in the Lucid society. She’s also in a committed relationship with a very well-intentioned gentleman.”
“I’ve met him actually. We’reveryclose. Are you going to push this button for me, or do I have to do it myself,” she taunted.
Trelin stared at her with contempt.
Shrugging, Lottie pushed the down button for the elevator. The doors opened immediately, and she stepped on, turned, and did a little finger wave at the man glaring at her.
“Damnit! She stomped her foot once the doors were closed. “Fucking Trelin!”
Her phone vibrated with a text:
Selena: Did she agree to dinner?
Lottie: You failed to mention Trelin was the concierge on her floor today
Willa: Shit
Alex: Shit
Mae: Oh fuck
Eve: Oh no!
Janie: HAHAHA
Lottie: There’s always tomorrow. Heading back to my room to get ready for Cain.
Willa: I’ve just taken a breakfast reservation under the Bryant’s name for tomorrow
Selena: Weird
Lottie: Aren’t they in the inclusive resort package
Selena: They are. All food on the resort property is covered
Alex: It’s not like they don’t have the money to go somewhere else
Mae: Still odd since they don’t eat…
No one else commented but Lottie agreed, it was highly unusual.
