She shrugged. “I’m fine. It’s been a weird few weeks and I’m glad it’s all coming to a close.

Atlas had been the last McNamara to leave but he came storming back into the bar.

“Have any of you seen or spoken to Liselotte?”

“Since when?” Selena asked.

He glared down at her, “When is the last time you spoke to her?”

Selena scratched her head. “Well, I don’t think I’ve talked to her at all tonight. I just got here, and she Nova were long gone.”

“What’s going on, Atlas?” Hela stood, her hands on her hips.

Willa and Selena smiled at the gesture since she was still two feet shorter than her oldest brother.

“We’ve been contacted…”

“About?”

Sein and Wilder entered the bar from opposite doors.

Selena slid her eyes across the table to meet Willa’s.

“Have any of you spoken to Lottie?” Wilder called out before reaching the table.

Hela turned, “Tell me what this is about, now,” she demanded, Sein wincing at her tone.

“We’ve received a ransom note.” Sein blurted out.

“A what?” Willa stood then.

“A note, it’s a fucking letter, from some unknown group. They have Liselotte.”

“What?” Hela shrieked. “Who is it? What do they want? Just give it to them!”

“We have a sneaking suspicion this has to do with the Bryant’s, but they’re contained so we’re not sure who’s behind this.” Wilder explained.

“Figure it out,” Hela snapped at her brother. “In all our eternities, no harm has come to the McNamara family or The Jovial and it’s not about to start now. What are they asking for? What are their terms?” The usual fun-loving Hela had gotten turned business like quickly. She would not let anything happen to her daughter.

“Hela, please. We want to find Lottie as much as you do but we need to discuss this. Has anyone seen Nova? Either she’s involved or she’s been taken as well.”

Selena stood then, stumbling a little. “Let me go get Rasha, she’ll know what to do.”

“Selena, stop.” Atlas commanded. “We would like to keep this quiet. We have our own network and while we appreciate yours and Rasha’s assistance, we can’t be sure someone at the hideaway isn’t involved.”

Selena felt her stomach flop. She knew everyone who worked at the resort and the most frequent guests. No one would dare touch a hair on Lottie’s head. Would they?

“I, uh, I’m sorry. What can I do? “She asked, her speech slightly slurred.

“Let’s get you home, aye? Then, if McNamara needs one or both of us, we’ll be waiting.”

Atlas nodded to Willa. “Thank you. We will call if there is anything you can do.”

Willa nodded back, understanding the unspoken message between them. Selena was drunk and Atlas found it slightly suspicious, even though he’d known the witch and her family for centuries.

“Wilder, what is your plan?” Hela brought the attention back to finding Lottie.

“We’ll need to locate Nova. Call The Jovial back to that conference room. All fangs on deck.” Wilder snapped as he pushed through the bar doors, heading for the second floor.
