Page 105 of Kissed By Her

“All done,” I said, and she turned and struck a pose.

“What do you think?” she asked.

I clapped. “Outstanding. Incredible performance. Five stars! Two thumbs up!”

“Shut up,” she said, pretending to throw a shoe at me.

I ducked and then gave her a kiss on the cheek. “Now it’s my turn.” I still had my pajamas on from the night before and my hair was hopelessly tangled.

“Go get dressed,” Honor said, smacking me on the ass.

“Oh, do that again,” I said, and she did.

“If you don’t hurry, we’re going to be late,” she said as I was about to ask her to smack me a third time and then take me back to bed.

“Ugh, fine. We’ll be responsible adults and shit.”

I threw on some clothes and brushed my teeth before Honor came to hurry me along by helping with my hair. She brushed and braided it for me while I chugged some coffee and ate the last brownie.

“Don’t you judge my choices,” I said to her. “What are you going to eat?”

Honor pulled a shaker bottle out of her bag that had a few different colored powders in the bottom.

“What is that?” I asked.

“Breakfast?” she said, going to the fridge and grabbing my almond milk.

She poured it into the bottle and then shook it up in front of me. “Emergency breakfast.”

“I could have made you something. Or I can make you something over at the house. You can eat with the twins.”

Honor chugged her drink and then shook her head.

“I’ll pass,” she said. “I don’t think I’m ready for that yet.”

“They’re really not that bad, I promise.”

Honor finished her drink and we set off on the “commute” to work that took all of one minute.

We walked into the house together and it was anticlimactic because no one was around.

“Should we call everyone downstairs and make an announcement?” I asked Honor, mostly to see the look of horror on her face.

“Absolutely not,” she said.

“Okay. Well, if you change your mind about breakfast, let me know. I have to go wake the twins.” I gave her a quick peck before heading up the stairs. I stopped halfway and looked over my shoulder at her.

“You look hot as fuck today,” I whispered.

She couldn’t hide her smile as she headed to Mark’s office.

The twins were hard to get out of bed, and I suspected they’d stayed up late to read again. There were worse reasons for them to lose sleep, so I never snitched on them to Mark.

“Come on, chickens, we need to get ready to go to your mom’s,” I said.

“Chickens?” Riley said, squinting at me as I pushed her toward the bathroom.

“Sorry, I’ve had chickens on the brain,” I said.
