“I like that way of looking at life,” she said. “You know, you’re pretty wise for your age.”

“Is that a crack about me being older than you?” I asked.

Honor winked. “I’ve always had a thing for older women.”

“Is that so?”

She told me about all the woman crushes she’d had and yep, she had a type.

“You wanna hear my type?” I asked her.

“Tell me,” she said.

“Hot and mean,” I said and she smacked me on the arm.

“Is that what you think of me?” she said, but she was laughing.

“I mean, you literally wanted me to, so it’s just a tribute to your acting skills.”

She laughed again. “You’re lucky you’re hot and good in bed.”

I pretended to toss my hair over my shoulder dramatically. “Thank you, thank you very much.”

“You know, for someone who isn’t moving in, you did bring a lot of your stuff,” I said as she put some of her things in the bathroom that she’d need the next morning to get ready. We’d just finished dinner and we were both exhausted from barely sleeping the previous night. I definitely had plans for fucking tonight, but sleep was also on the menu.

“I just like having my supplies with me,” she said.

I came up behind her and put my arms around her waist, pressing my face into her back.

I loved that I could smell her perfume all over my house.

Honor leaned back against me and sighed, but it was a happy sigh.

“I have to admit, the incredible sex and not having to look at chickens have their appeal,” she said, turning and putting her arm around me.

“And the brownies. And the shortened commute,” I said. “All definite bonuses.”

Honor kissed my temple. “I want to go back and kick myself for holding back for so long. We could have been doing this weeks ago. What a fool.”

“You can’t be smart about everything,” I said, looking into her eyes.

“I’m smart about most things. Not you, though.” She ran her fingers through my hair. I’d taken out the braid she’d done for me earlier.

“It’s okay. You got there in the end,” I said.

“You definitely helped. I was so scared of being with you. I was scared the sex would be bad and then I’d have to see you every day and all you’d think about me was that I was bad at sex.” She cringed.

“It’s good that didn’t happen, so we don’t need to worry about it,” I said. “Instead of worrying about what if we’d had bad sex, we could be having great sex.” I wiggled my eyebrows to make her chuckle and she did.

“You’re right.”

“I seem to be right a lot lately. Must be those extra years of wisdom I have on you,” I said.

“Is that a crack about me being younger?”

I kissed her instead of answering.
