Layne looked at Honor. “What do you think?”

“I say yes,” Honor said.

They squealed and ran off to fetch whatever it was.

“Let’s go save Joy from herself,” I told Lark.

“That’s a good idea.”

We eventually found Joy, but Ezra had pulled her into a corner and was talking to her and stroking her hair.

“I think Ezra has it handled,” I said to Lark.

“Yeah, something tells me they’re going to disappear for an unspecified amount of time,” Lark said, wiggling her eyebrows.

“Definitely,” I agreed and a few seconds later, Ezra took Joy’s hand and started pulling her down the hall.

Lark and I said hello to Liam and Gwen, who, according to Lark, were also on their way to an engagement. Mark stood up and made a toast, and then Joy emerged with mussed hair and a dazed expression to make another.

Layne called for everyone’s attention and smiled as she looked around at everyone, Honor by her side.

“I have no idea if I’m supposed to make a toast or if that’s gauche, but I don’t care,” Layne said. “I wanted to thank all of you, on behalf of myself and my future bride for being here. For supporting us, for loving us, and for all the work that went into tonight. So let’s eat and drink, and here’s to love!” she said, raising her glass.

“To love!” everyone echoed, lifting their glasses and then drinking.

“To love,” I said, pulling Lark close for a kiss that tasted of champagne.

“Toourlove,” she said.

I could definitely toast to that.
