‘Them, and an army of my bodyguards. Relax... and don’t change the subject.’ I recognized from Ferris’s tone that he was far from being angry.

‘The subject?’ Bea barely spoke not realizing exactly where Ferris was going with the conversation.

‘You seem to be in trouble, Mouse.’ I shrugged zipping up my pants. I wasn’t going to sit around and play with them. At least not on that day. I just snuck a kiss on the nape of her neck and begin walking towards the door.

‘You’re leaving!?’ She seemed worried, and by damn, she had all reasons to be.

‘You’re in good hands. I guarantee it. Just scream if you need help.’ I trusted Ferris will pick up from where I left off. It was how things would work from there on, and she should have no reason to complain about it.

No reason at all!

I didn’t feel any kind of remorse for abandoning her there with Ferris. Not sure if anyone should feel remorse for offering his loved one the freedom of pleasure.

I spent the rest of the night with Nick and Jason. Even though they were getting on my nerves lately, they were still part of my crew. Besides, there’s a saying that I put great value in,keep your friends close and your enemies even closer. So, until I decided which kind they were, I need to keep an eye on them. Nothing serious though, just guys hanging around and sharing a few glasses.

I returned to Ferris’s mansion late that evening. The thought of sleeping alone didn’t appeal to me, so I decided to try my luck and see if Bea was in her room.

‘Come in, Cole,’ she answered the second I knocked as if she could see through the fucking door.

I entered to find her sitting on the bed, while her freckled friend from the Academy, Jenna, was laying on a pillow next to her.

‘Jenna, so you’re the one occupying my spot tonight,’ I snickered, trying to come up with a plan to sneak between them.

‘Why do I feel like the fifth wheel every ten minutes,’ her friend all but muttered, hiding beneath the sheets.

‘I’ll share beds. I used to go to summer camp.’ I had no problem sharing a bed with two attractive women. It wasn’t like it would have been the first time I had done it anyway.

‘I’m pretty sure the Elite summer camp is made of villas and not bunk beds... I see you’re feeling better,’ Bea said as I was making room next to her on the pillow.

‘A certain someone healed my pain.’

‘What exactly do you think you’re doing?’ She turned to look at me... fuck, did she seem unpleased...

‘No one said three is a crowd.’ I was preparing to cover myself for the night, trying to ignore her — like that could ever work.

‘Isay three is a crowd.’ She almost threw me out of bed.

...I guess it didn’t work... I owed it to myself to give it a try anyway.

‘Ok...ok, I’m leaving, don’t get your panties in a twist.’

‘Your appetite is never satisfied.’ She crept a good night kiss onto my lips.

‘How could it ever be, Mouse? I want you every minute and second of the day.’ Still, I knew when I was outstaying my welcome. I needed to go to my own room. Just for the night.

My plans simply moved to the morning because I had no intention of dropping my one-on-one time with her. I could crop up something at the Academy, maybe pay the janitor to close the music hall where I would give Mouse areal recital.

But it seemed I had to learn the hard way that life had its own twisted agenda.

It was morning... so fucking morning that I was just having the first sip of my to-go coffee right after I parked my car at the Academy.

I think I developed a daily instinct of scanning the area to see where Bea was.

After finding her location, I took the rest of my shit out of the car and headed over her way. I couldn’t have taken more than a few steps when a piercing sound broke through the air, changing life as we saw it forever.

It was the beginning of the end, and we were moving to that point blindly.

I didn’t even get to realize what was happening before the guard designated to look over me pushed me against some other parked cars, so we could take cover.
