‘This is exactly why I told you to turn. I want to get dressed, not undressed. Do you have a belt?’ She asked as soon as she pulled a pair of my jeans on.

‘Kinky. I like it.’The ways I could have used the belt in...

‘For the pants, Ferris.’

‘You can take mine off.’ Pants and belt included.

Unfortunately, she stuck just with the belt. Fuck, it wasn’t some kind of sexual foreplay. She was really getting dressed.

‘Do you have a pair of joggers?’ She was weighing me from head to toe.

‘What do you think?’

‘I think you should put them on.’ Again with the dressing up when all I wanted to do was to get undressed.

‘Ok, but first tell me what’s going on here.’

‘We’re going out.’

‘The fuck we are.’Maybe when Hell freezes over...

‘Please. It would do you some good. I promise.’

I was pretty convinced that the panic attack caused by leaving my mansion wouldn’t begoodfor me, ‘Since when do you know what’s good or not for me?’

But who was I to resist her playing the sympathy card?

‘Listen, I know that I’m probably just some new toy for you. And maybe you don’t even believe me, but I care about you.’ She put on a slight pout.

And it seemed to be working in her favor, ‘You’re not a toy... I fucked up big time. I know.’

‘Well, unfuck it then. Trust me. Give me an hour of your life.’ I could give her all the weeks and months to come, but I would prefer to do it between the warm sheets of my bed.

‘An hour outside these gates?’ Even the thought seemed impossible.

‘An hour with me.’ She was doing it again, playing the string that went straight to my heart.

‘Step aside,’ I groaned as I went to the shelf to pick up a pair of joggers. ‘Do I look baggy enough?’

‘Not really, but it will do. Let’s call for a cab.’ She took out her phone to place an order.

‘A cab!?’ Was she out of her mind?

‘Yeah, we can’t take the limo where we’re going. Alfred taught me that.’

‘I’m not going into the Pit if that’s what you’re thinking.’

Going outside wasn’t enough? She wanted me to go to the Pit?

‘I promise you’ll be safe.’How sweet of her. But it wasn’t my own safety I was worried about. More like the safety of the others.

‘I’m not afraid if that’s what you’re implying.’ Well, to be honest, I was afraid... I was afraid it would snap and lose my temper.

‘I know you’re not afraid. I didn’t mean it that way.’ Her fingers intertwined with mine. ‘I hope you’re hungry.’

‘I was going to call you to invite you to dinner, but you beat me to it.’ I was pretty sure that no one could refuse a dinner cooked by a Michelin-star chef. However, I wasn’t going to ruin her surprise by offering my alternative to the evening.

‘My treat this time.’ She smiled so deliciously that I even forgot where we were going. Okay, that was a small lie because the cab ride there was literally making the skin on my back crawl.
