I snorted into my coffee, lowering the mug a little to look at him again. “Blaze, I catch her running her fingers over that scar all the time. She doesn’t even realize she does it.” No surprise showed on his face, so obviously, he’d noticed that, too. “Despite you two hating each other at the time, that scar somehow soothes her. I don’t understand it, but there are a lot of things about Montana’s coping mechanisms that I don’t understand. What matters to me now is how the three of us move forward.” I stood up from the stool, taking note of the time on the stove. I needed to get a shower and get to work. “Marry her, Blaze. We’ll discuss our proposals to her at some other time.”

He nodded. “I’ll be in my office. See you this evening.”

I nodded once at him and left the kitchen, heading for the bedroom. After setting my coffee on the dresser, I took a moment to admire Montana. She was sprawled out on the massive bed, hugging Blaze’s pillow to her chest, her head resting on my pillow. The blankets were wrapped around her, and her dark hair was spread out behind her, her lashes resting on her cheek.

Stunning.

It was moments like these when she took my fucking breath away—when all her barriers came down and she just relaxed, trusting us to protect her and care for her.

I leaned over the bed and gently brushed my lips to the top of her head before heading into the bathroom to get a shower.

It was crazy how far we’d come in such a small amount of time, but if there was one thing I knew and was secure in, it was that Blaze and I both were serious about Montana. For us, there was no one else. And while I knew some days, she struggled to understand why we wanted her so badly, I knew why we did.

She was incredible. Even on her bad days, she fought so hard. There was a strength inside of her that we admired and adored.

She was a one-of-a-kind woman, and like fuck were we ever letting her slip away.

Montana

I frowned at the store in front of us as the baby nudged my belly. Blaze and Jonah had dragged me out of the house to come baby shopping. I’d put up a hell of a fight on it, but had I won? Nope.

“I don’t want to do this,” I grumbled.

“Too bad,” Blaze told me. I glowered at him. “You have a baby coming, Montana, and we need to be prepared. You’ve put this off long enough.”

I knew I had. I mean, fuck, I was already almost out of my fifth month. We’d been living together for a while now, and while I’d finally gotten used to that, this pregnancy was just something I couldn’t cope with. And I was trying; I really was. I tried admiring my belly in the mirror. I tried to enjoy the feeling of my baby kicking.

But I couldn’t. It was almost as if there was a block in my brain preventing me from being happy about this or at least okay with it. Fuck, at this point, I’d just take okay.

I rubbed my arms. “Can John come?” I asked quietly. I didn’t want to upset either of my men, but if I had to do this, I wanted John with me.

Jonah leaned forward from the backseat of Blaze’s truck and pressed a kiss to my cheek. “Already called him, baby girl. He’s pulling in now.”

I looked up at the familiar, loud rumble of John’s car. He slid into the park next to us, and a moment later, he got out, opening my door. He smiled at me. “You ready, little sis?”

I drew in a deep breath and shook my head, telling him the truth. He unbuckled my seatbelt, just as determined to make me suffer as my boyfriends were. “Come on. The three of us will be with you the entire time; I promise.”

Blaze wrapped his hand around mine, and I slowly turned my head to look at him. “Be a good girl, Montana, and I’ll reward you,” he promised.

My entire body tingled at the sensual promise I could see lingering in his eyes. John groaned. “Seriously, fucker? That’s my little sister.”

Blaze smirked, but he kept his eyes trained on me.

“Okay.” I nodded my head and allowed John to help me out of the truck.

My brother grabbed my hand in his and led me toward the store. Jonah was on my other side, holding my other hand, and Blaze was behind me, a silent but steady force against the surge of my emotions.

I stayed quiet most of the time. Jonah and Blaze asked my opinion on certain things, and I just either nodded or shook my head. “Why did I have to come along?” I asked when they were finally loading the truck up with all the furniture Blaze and Jonah had purchased.
