Theodore stares at the two of us, his green eyes darker than I’ve ever seen before. He looks angry. No, it’s more than that. He looks murderous.

“Casper,” he says, his voice dangerously calm despite the war raging on his face. He keeps his eyes on me, watching me. “It’s time to go.”

Nodding at him gratefully, I grab my bag and quickly rush away from the table. Gregory’s hand slides along my back as I pass him, sending a shiver down my spine. “Lovely to see you, Gregory.”

“Yes, you too, Fallon,” he comments, his eyes lighting up in amusement. “I’m sure I’ll see you again, very soon. Perhaps, then we can finish what we started, hm?”

Absolutely fucking not.

I’ve no idea what this man thinks we started, but the only way it’s getting finished is with his own hand. I’ve never felt more revolted in my life than the way I do staring at him now.

“Casper,” Theodore snaps, pulling my gaze to his. He threads his fingers through mine, tugging me out of the restaurant and into the cold air. He drags me all the way to his car, depositing me into the seat before letting go.

TWENTY-NINE

“Whatareyoudoing?”Fallon asks when I follow her into her dorm. She switches the lights on before moving into the kitchen. Shutting the door, I follow her through without answering her question. While she fiddles with the kettle, I slide past her to the fridge and pull out a bottle of beer. “Sure, help yourself.”

“I will, thanks.”

“What are you doing?” she repeats when I move into the living room and throw myself down on the couch.

Again, I don’t answer.

It seems fucking redundant when what I’m doing is obvious. Grabbing the remote, I flick through the channels, stopping onDie Hard.

“Ever watched it?”

“Nope. And we’re not watching it now. You aren’t staying.”

“You know,” I tell her slowly, throwing my legs on the coffee table and getting comfortable. She glares at me, her eyes drilling holes into the side of my face. “I’ve been rethinking your offer.”

“My offer of what?” she asks cautiously, her face wrinkling in confusion.

“Your offer of friendship.”

“Oh, now he thinks about it,” she mutters under her breath. A harsh laugh slips past her lips, though, she clamps her mouth shut, stopping the sound.

I don’t miss the way her face scrunches in confusion, her mind running miles. It’s only a matter of time before she’ll blurt out whatever she’s thinking, and I’ve got all the time in the world to wait her out. “I’m going to get changed.”

“Is that an invitation?”

“Get fucked.” She huffs, stomping across the room and into her bedroom. Before I can test the theory and follow her, her bedroom door slams shut, the lock twisting only seconds later.

It’s cute she thinks a locked door would keep me away from her.

I’ll let her have her moment, for now.

She comes out a short while later, the satin dress long gone. While she looked fucking delectable in that, there’s something about the comfy joggers and hoodie combo she’s wearing right now that has my dick straining to break free of my boxers.

“Why are you still here?” she snaps, grabbing the remote from my hand and changing the channel. She picks the most atrocious rom-com, smiling happily to herself when she sees the disdain on my face.

“I told you; I’ve been thinking.”

“Well think elsewhere.”

She pulls her legs up onto the cushion, curling them under her, and drags a grey blanket down from the back of the couch to wrap over her body.

For someone who is so keen to get rid of me, she’s not trying very hard.
