My nose wrinkles in disgust, but I take a seat on the chaise. "Sure. If mold is your thing."

"Would you rather me take you to the house?"

"Actually, come to think of it… this is great. Really…lovely," I answer.

Zayn grins at me. "Atta girl. You're the first person I've brought here. It's my little home away from home."

I sip my coffee, the contents still warm in the takeaway cup. "How does one acquire such a residence?"

"Ah… well, finder's keepers, of course. I found it, so it's mine."

He takes a seat on the couch, sprawling his legs across the length of it. He takes a drink of his coffee, letting out a dramatic groan of caffeinated pleasure. "Tastes like perfection."

I shuffle back on the chaise, doing my best to relax. Well, as best as I can. I'm on edge and questioning my mental state.

"So, you come here to get away?"

Zayn nods. "Twin life. Well, brotherlife really. It's nice to have your own space when you have two brothers who spend their time brooding and mood-ing."

I snort. "And which one does which?"

"Clearly, Blake is the brooding one."

"And Asher is the moody one?" I ask, rolling my eyes. "Never would have guessed it."

Zayn crosses his feet at his ankles. "Now, that's not fair. I think you might have something to do with his moods."

Shaking my head, I look away. "Asher does it all himself. I take no credit."

"Ah, always the humbled one. Tell me, kitty cat… truth or dare?"

My gaze snaps back to him as I try to survey his thoughts. His face gives nothing away, his lips pulling in a smirk as he watches me like a hawk.

I realize I'm not getting away with not answering, so I decide to play it safe.

"Truth."

Zayn watches me lazily, his fingers strumming his leg. "Did seeing Asher with that psycho make you jealous?"

My eyes narrow towards him. "No."

"Bullshit. I should warn you – my version of this is quite simple… there's consequences for lies, just as much as there is for incomplete dares."

"I'm not lying," I say through clenched teeth.

He smiles coolly at me. "Do I have to punish you?"

The audacity. Seriously.

I roll my eyes. "And what punishment would that be? Hm?"

My attitude is going to get me into trouble one day. And judging by the look on Zayn's face… that could very well be today.

Zayn watches me for a few seconds, his sly smile still on his face, before he sits up and puts his coffee on the table. He reaches under the coffee table to the attached set of drawers, opening one. I try to see what he's doing, but it's blocked from view.

"Let's find out, shall we? I'll ask you again. Did seeing Asher with her make you jealous?"

My pride takes over and I'm determined not to let him see me crack.
