"What are you doing here?" I ask briskly, stopping in front of him.

Cold, grey eyes look up at me casually. "Bourbon and cola, small amount of ice."

I blink at him, before slowly turning around to grab the items. My body feels stiff, like I'm suddenly on edge. Of all the people to run into here, thismakes the least sense.

"Here," I say, putting the drink down. "Now, what are you doing here, Blake?"

Blake picks up the glass, sipping the contents. "Does it matter?"

"Of course it matters. I find it hard to believe there's not a specific reason for your presence. You're four hours away from home. And of all the bars to land in…you're in mine."

He shrugs, looking around the room. "Nice place."

I sigh, shaking my head. "Right."

Blake puts his money on the bar, which I snatch and ring him out. I slam down his change and turn away, continuing to serve customers.

I figure the best course of action is to just ignore him. He'll either tell me what he wants, or he'll vanish.

At least, I hope.

"Anyway, let me tell you more about Misty," George says, pulling out his phone.

Blake is two stools away, the one between them empty, so I feel a bit awkward but do my best to placate George.

I lean over, looking at the photos on his phone as he scrolls through. He has taken some pictures of their dates, the two of them smiling as they pose like they are in their 20s again.

"She looks great, buddy. Are you happy?" I ask, grinning.

George nods. "She's really nice. I know it's really soon, but I think she could be the one."

"I hope so. Make sure you invite us to the wedding," I say, winking at him.

I walk past Blake, deliberately not looking at him as I head to the fridge to grab a can of soda. Mike walks over, letting out a ragged breath.

"That group was crazy. Bachelor party. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a little wild in here soon."

Laughing, I give his shoulder a squeeze. "I'm here to help."

"There's two of my favorite people," comes a voice behind us and I turn, smirking at Devin.

"Here's trouble," I mutter.

Devin gives me a sheepish grin. "Would you believe me if I said I had a business meeting?"

Mike and I both say no at the same time, bursting out in laughter. I motion to the office. "Boss woman is in there. Enjoy."

My fellow barman and I share a knowing look, a silent oath to not interrupt this time. I'm not that cruel.

As I head back to my end of the bar, Blake stops me.

"Can we talk after your shift?" he asks.

I give him a weary look, wondering if Zayn has opened his big, fat… extremely talented mouth.

"I guess?"

Blake lets out a half-chuckle. "You're not pleased to see me at all, are you?"
