"Come here."

I sit up on the coffee table, looking up at him. His hand threads through my hair as he leans down, kissing me. I kiss him back, feeling drops of Zayn land on my thighs.

Asher pulls back, turning to pull on his pants. He leaves his shirt off, his toned body rippling and covered in sweat.

I'm lightheaded as I stand, my body shaking with the aftermath of what just happened. Zayn puts his hands on my hips, steadying me.

"Come on, pretty girl. Let's go have a shower."

Chapter twenty-eight

Iavoidthemforthe rest of the day, my plans to hang by the pool abandoned.

Things have escalated again, and even though I enjoyed itthoroughly, I can't help but wonder if I'm playing with fire.

Asher's behavior is getting more strange, and it's fucking with my head. I still haven't forgiven him, but he's making it hard to stay mad at him.

I'm laying on my bed, scrolling through Facebook when a message pops up in my inbox. I open it, smiling when I see it's from Phoebe.

Phoebe Sloane: Hi stranger. I hope you're keeping out of trouble.

I snort, typing back a reply.

Rylee Selwood: As best as I can. I miss you. Can't wait to catch up soon.

I decide to open Netflix and chill out in my room. I've locked the door this time so there's no unplanned interruptions because quite frankly, I'm not sure I can handle anymore right now.

I'm half way through an episode when I start getting hungry. I'm not keen to go downstairs, so I search my room for food. I spot the pot brownies on my desk, and decide that will do. I could use a little green therapy.

I play it safe, only eating half of one and resume watching my show. About an hour passes, and my stomach grumbles again. I'm even more hungry now, but I'm feeling somewhat braver.

I venture downstairs, noting it's oddly quiet. I head into the kitchen, flicking on the light. The guys must be out or in their rooms, but either way, I'm happy to see my pathway is clear.

Opening the fridge, I grab some cheese before heading to the cupboard. I reach for the first things I can find, my stomach growling as the munchies start to kick in.

"Are you having a party in your room or something?"

I look up, spotting Blake heading into the kitchen in boxer shorts and a plain shirt.

"I'm just hungry," I mutter, grabbing a drink as well.

"I can see that," Blake answers in concern.

I grin at him, making him frown in confusion.

"You're being very odd."

"I'm always odd," I say, heading out of the kitchen.

Footsteps follow me but I push on, climbing the stairs as I head to my room. I stop at the foot of my bed, opening my arms and letting all the food fall.

I turn around as Blake walks in, eyeing me suspiciously.

"Everyone's in a weird mood tonight. What's going on?" he asks, crossing his arms.

"Best you don't know," I respond, throwing myself onto the bed.

Blake stares at me blankly, his jaw twitching. "Please tell me you didn't."
