Zayn hears the commotion, walking into the kitchen with a confused look. "What's going on guys?"

We fill him in, his face dropping as we all quickly grab our phones and run to the front door.

"Ry, I need you to stay calm. We're on our way."

We jump in the car, my foot slamming onto the gas as we speed through the gates. I take off towards the road she's mentioned, heading towards the back way out of town.

Blake sits in the passenger seat, glaring at me as I speed past traffic, weaving in and out of cars.

"Put your seatbelt on, Ash."

I reach up, ripping it down as I click it in. He's right. I need to be sensible.

We head past the bar when Rylee's sobs play through the speaker.

"I don't want to die. I don't want to die."

"You're not going to die!" I snap, my insides twisting so painfully that it feels like I'm being stabbed.

I can't lose her. If they touch even one fucking hair on her head, I'm going to end their fucking existence. I'll fucking burn them to the ground, consequences be damned.

"They're trying to run me off the road," she screams and I tense up. Blake reaches over, grabbing my shoulder and giving it a squeeze to calm me.

He says something to her, but my mind is blank. All I can see is her face, and how terrified she must be. I have tunnel vision, staring at the road ahead as I desperately try to find her.

"The car accident, Asher…" she sobs and I squeeze my eyes shut for a second, unshed tears blurring my vision.

I force myself to stay calm, taking a deep breath. "It's going to be alright. Stay focused," I murmur to her.

"We can't be far off now," Zayn says in the middle back seat, looking ahead. "She's got to be somewhere along here."

Blake nods. "I can't see anything past this truck up ahead though."

Suddenly, the noise of a bike revving comes through the phone line, followed by the bone-chilling screams of Rylee. The three of us instantly yell out to her, but she doesn't respond.

The sound of squealing tires, bending metal, and glass breaking fill the car. I hold my breathe, screaming out Rylee's name, desperate for her to answer us.

"Rylee!"

I look forward, noticing the truck ahead slams on it's brakes. Anger fills me as three bikes whip around it, heading towards us.

I swerve the car towards them to try to block their path when a gut-wrenching sound comes screeching through the phone, destroying everything inside of me.

BANG.
