“In fact, it’s all this.” She waved her hands up and over his body and head.

“Okay.”

“Yep, coming and going. Pretty spectacular package all over.”

“Ah, you find me sexy. You think I’m handsome,” he said in a singsong.

“I’ll take the fifth,” she said.

He did a quick glance. “What?”

“Your head is big enough.”

His grin broadened as he pulled up in front of Logan’s building. “We’ll talk about this later, babe,” he said.

She dropped her voice to a husk, and said, “Later.”

He went to grab for her, but she was already out of the car laughing.

“You were always a little tease,” he said over the hood.

“Aw, the big bad wolf can’t handle little Red Riding Hood.”

“We’ll see the next time you’re heading to grandma’s house.”

She came around the car. “Promises, promises.”

He slapped her on the butt as they made their way around to the side of the building. Ophelia waited while Dean knocked. The door opened on a lovely Asian girl, long, straight black hair, a sweet face, intense dark eyes, her lashes so long they cast shadows at the corners of her eyes. She was dressed in a white short-sleeved blouse and a blue and black plaid schoolgirl skirt, complete with socks and Mary Janes. This had to be Logan’s foster sister.

A teenage boy was right behind her. “Come on, Kurrie. We’ll be late. Move your—” His mouth snapped closed when he saw Dean and her.

Wow. Jackson Carter had the same good looks as his older sibling, but where Logan’s eyes were green, his kid brother’s were a clear blue.

“Ass is the word you’re looking for, Jack.” Kurrie gave them a smug grin and pushed past, a Hello Kitty backpack hanging from her shoulders.

“Language,” Logan growled from the table. “Get off to school. Make sure you come home right afterward and get your homework done. Sakura,” he said pointedly. She flashed him a wave but made a face where he couldn’t see her.

“Yes, slave driver,” she said under her breath, her voice cool, like liquid silver. She pulled a tube of lipstick out of her purse and started to apply it, a ruby red.

Okay, so maybe she wasn’t as innocent as Ophelia thought, even with those cute freckles across her nose. The two teenagers argued all the way down the stairs, heading for a red Dodge with white racing stripes.

Jessica entered the building as the teenagers were leaving and followed them into the kitchen. Logan rubbed at his face and regarded them with weary eyes. He was shirtless and Ophelia had to admit that the man was nicely put together, broad shoulders and a wide chest. He looked like a street tough with the dark stubble on his jaw and his mussed hair, someone no one wanted to mess with.

“Teenagers,” he muttered.

Gage came into the kitchen and his eyes immediately went to Jessica. She was dressed in black casual pants, a gray cotton shirt, and a pair of stylish sneakers.

He looked away and she worked at trying to pretend he wasn’t fixated on her. Donner’s claws clicked on the floor and the dog went immediately to Jessica. She knelt down and let him lick her face and greet her.

Gage leaned back against the counter and said, “He’s not usually so friendly to people he doesn’t know that well.” His eyes were a soft, tender blue.

Jessica looked stunned for a moment. “Well, he has good taste,” she said and rose.

“Donner,” Gage said, and the dog hesitated. “Get over here.” With one last adoring look at Jessica, he obeyed.

“We have a meeting in half an hour with Benny. He was hard to find. I was up most of the night tracking him down.”

“That’s why you look like hell,” Dean said.
