“One day we’ll have a bunch of kids running around, too,” he goes on in a dreamy voice.

“Abunch?” I ask, raising an eyebrow. “How much is a bunch, exactly?”

“I don’t know. Six, maybe?”

“Are you crazy?” I can’t even imagine giving birth once, let alone six times.

Kids are cute and all, but they’re a long way down the line.

“It’s kind of unlikely that you won’t have multiple births.”

“What?” I ask, staring at him.

“You have three mates,” he reminds me.

“That doesn’t mean I have to have triple the number of babies.”

“You don’t have to, but you’ll probably have twins at least twice …”

I stare at him, and he trails off before he seems to realize he’s freaking me out.

“And I’m joking,” he says quickly. “One little kid who has my sense of humor and your good looks will be more than enough.”

Okay. It’s back to being cute.“I want him to have your hair.”

He snorts. “Why would you wish this on a little kid?”

“Because if he’s anything like you, he’ll want us to color it and then we can all match.”

“I fucking love you,” he says, kissing my lips and keeping me close.

I sink into his embrace, and I don’t want to let go.

I love him so damn much.

Chapter Thirty-Five

Adrian

IsitweirdthatSilas is passed out cold this morning? I’m still debating that question when I realize it’s a little after eleven and I’d guess that means he’s had about five hours of sleep, maybe less. When I check on him, he’s lying on his stomach, one inked up arm hanging off the bed, fingers scraping the carpet.

He’s snoring a little bit, further proof that he’s in a deep sleep.

Christmas or not, he could use a few more hours.

I step out of the room and close the door.

Rachel comes out of our bedroom naked, Carter trailing behind her.

“Showers are more fun when they’re shared,” Carter says.

Rachel laughs. “I already told you, that’s not happening.”

“I thought you were starving?” I ask him. “Come help make breakfast and you can have the first few strips of bacon.”

Usually, nothing sways our Omega away from Rachel. Apparently, this morning, he is actually kind of hungry, because he stops following our mate long enough to let her slip into the bathroom and close the door. When he glances back and realizes I just distracted him out of taking her into sharing a shower with him, he lets out a sigh.

“Bacon’s a pretty good consolation prize, I guess.” Carter follows me as I start down the stairs.
