Everleigh blinks and blinks again, her mouth moving like she’s gonna speak but doesn’t. Finally, she seems to find her voice and shakes her head. “We can’t do this.”

Moving to her, I slide a hand up her side, trailing along her curves until I get to her chin and grip her there. “We can and we will, sugar. I won’t lose you because of them. So, buckle in, baby, and prepare for the ride of your life ‘cause I’m lockin’ you down, and we’re doing this once and for all.”

I don’t give her a chance to respond. Her excuses aren’t what I want to hear. I’ll wear her down until she agrees, and I know deep down she wants to be mine. She fucking told me so in the damn letter she wrote me. So that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

CHAPTERSEVEN

EVERLEIGH

“This can’t be happening,” I mutter to myself as Daemon pulls into his driveway.

Diablo and Beast in the backseat having shoved everything I’d packed up in the very back making it where none of us could see out the back window.

It took two days of them all being in South Carolina, one of them being spending the day enjoying the beach. It was during this time Daemon found an alcove and fucked me in the sand. When we got back to the room, he showered with me and cleaned every inch of me before taking me against the tiled wall. The whole thing was perfect, and in those moments, he was able to get me to agree and confess that I want to be his.

Then yesterday, Beast and Diablo did a once over on my Tahoe making sure all the fluids were good and changed the spark plugs. Not that it needed them, but they wouldn’t listen when I told them I’d changed everything out myself when I bought it. We left late last night, Daemon claiming he wanted to get on the road and get home early to be able to get shit organized for our trip to Vegas. I still can’t believe I’ve agreed to get married in Las Vegas and probably by an Elvis wearing that white suit. Hell, it could end up being by a Chewbacca for all I know.

“It’s happening, sugar,” Daemon says, parking the SUV and twisting the key to shut off the engine. “Now let’s get this shit unloaded and then we’ll go by the clubhouse. While you and the girls catch up, meaning you get the ass rimming they’re chomping at the bits to give you, I’ll get shit handled with Reaper. After that, we’ll get on the road. Hendrik is with us next week and when I told him what we’re doing he said he couldn’t wait for next week.”

I stare at him through widen eyes wondering if Daemon was crazy or God I don’t even know. This whole thing is nuts. But as much as I find it crazy, my stomach is fluttering with butterflies in the excitement.

“We’ll get shit in the house, brother, and bring the Tahoe to the club. Why don’t you go ahead of us,” Diablo suggests gruffly.

“Appreciate it.” He doesn’t wait around and climbs out from behind the wheel.

I follow suit, more slowly, watching as he rounds the hood and comes to my side.

Daemon takes my hand and tugs me to him. “Let’s get to the clubhouse.” He leads me over to the bike, I’ve longed to sit astride of, pressed against his back as we ride.

I bite my lip and watch him as he straddles the massive beast before motioning me to follow. I let out a puff of air and throw my leg over the back and do as he did. Wrapping my arms around him, I press tightly into his back, leaving no room between us.

The bike starts up with a thundering roar and I swear, the jeans I’m wearing grow wet from the juices that seep from my entrance. God this is going to be torture.

“I still can’t believe you thought you could just abandon us and we wouldn’t look for you,” Sutton snaps, hands on her hips as she glares at me.

“Well, what do you expect me to do?” I huff taking on the same stance. “I don’t want my drama brought to the club. You all have been through enough.” I make sure to level a glare at each of my girls and the men who’re standing a few feet away listening. “You don’t need this shit and I’m not family or anything else to the club.”

“Excuse me!” Ivy yells.

“Everleigh,” Daemon calls out warningly.

But it’s Reaper who gets my attention.

“Evs,” he says, coming to stand next to Ivy with his arm around her. “The very fact that you mean something to Ivy means you’re family. But as much as I appreciate what you were trying to do, it was the wrong fuckin’ move.”

“I don’t want my problems coming back on—”

“You’re not Juniper,” Daemon interrupts me.

“Exactly. She was causing issues before all that shit went down,” Angel mutters, narrowing his eyes at me.

“But—”

“No buts to it.” Again, I’m interrupted—this time by Reaper. “You’re family, and we take care of our own,” he says, giving me an odd look. “You’re not alone in this shit anymore, regardless of the fact you’re Daemon’s.”

“Everleigh,” Daemon gets my attention. He comes to stand at my side and pulls me in. “We’ve had this conversation already, and I’m not gonna keep going over it. So, get it through your head. We’re doing this. You and me. I’m not letting you get away from me again. Now or ever.”
