“It’s just a blanket, Katie.” She wiggled in my arms, resting her cheek on my chest, and I ran my hand through her gorgeous black air. My mind worked sluggishly, basking in the pleasure of the unexpected, and I kissed her crown before speaking up again. “Why did you pick a horror movie when you’re afraid of the dark?”
“I am. It’s as long as I can see... as long as it’s not really dark. And I like horror movies. Especially the bad ones.” I hummed, but I could sense that she had more to say, and Katie didn’t disappoint as her jaw ticked against my flesh. “Um, Brandon... I–I don’t want you to think that... you have s–some obligation—”
“If I didn’t want you—reallywant you—Katie, I wouldn’t have gone so far as to invite you to my house, let alone be your first.” My ears tingled and warmed, and I heaved a huge breath in a futile attempt to cool my body. In my arms, Katie relaxed ever so slightly, and I exhaled before turning my gaze back to the movie. Caressing her upper chest under the blanket, I licked my lips nervously as the truth in my tone filled the space. “I remember my first time. I was about your age, maybe twenty-seven, so a little older. I always worked... I mean, I still do, but it was worse back then. I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t special or anything. I never saw her again, but even that didn’t really bother me.”
“I didn’t come here to have sex with you, Brandon, butI don’t regret it.” Smiling as Katie inhaled sharply, she curled up tighter against my side, and satisfaction ripped through my chest. “My mom will have a field day when she finds out, though. You know, moms always know.”
“Is that a bad thing?” She shook her head instantly, and I reached over to grab a pack of lemon cookies. The wrapper crinkled loudly, and she sat up stiffly to slump over herself and rub her calves.
“Not really... it’s just a hassle, I guess. She’ll want to meet you and ask all these crazy specific questions that I don’t really want to answer.” Chuckling as I pushed myself up, I took a cookie from the package to take a bite as Katie screwed her face. “What’s more embarrassing than your mom talking to you about sex?”
Reaching to cup her chin, I kissed her lips hard, and she sighed and opened her mouth. Somehow, my cookie ended up on her tongue, and her giggle was muffled before she pulled back. Honestly, I couldn’t remember the last time I ate a cookie. I couldn’t remember the last time I ate any junk at all.
And pizza didn’t count.
“You can tell her it was super romantic.” Grinning as Katie rolled her eyes, I grabbed the back of her head to pull her to me, and her squeal rang in delight and merriment. “There weren’t any candles, though.”
“It’s hot enough, anyway.” Smashing her lips on mine as she climbed to straddle my lap, Katie’s kiss tasted like lemon and drew a groan from deep in my chest. Sliding my palm down her smooth, bare back, I squeezed her butt and slowly lay back down. Her hips rolled, her hot apex grinding against my lower abdomen, and I flexed my feet before tangling my fingers in her hair.
Katie’s tongue slipped from my mouth, and I groaned in protest even as she braced her palms against my chest. Her face contorted with pleasure, and I reached to knead her perky breasts. Arching into my hands, she threw her head back to moan, and my cock swelled before a single, quiet, rhythmic sound pierced our bubble.
Atop me, Katie tensed, and her eyes widened almost comically as they flew to mine. It was the only action she could take, and my heart stuttered before the footfalls suddenly stopped. My addled brain didn’t register how close they were, and I only had time to blink before her head whipped up.
The piercing shriek that burst from Katie’s throat almost ruptured my ear drums, and she jerked back to fall over herself. Sitting up to twist, I scowled as Audra stood, frozen, her jaw on the floor and her eyes hanging from their sockets.Well... not really.
Everything happened in slow-motion as I stood up and Audra’s face turned a dark shade of red. Snatching my jeans, I shoved my legs into them as Katie curled up under a blanket out of the corner of my eye. I could practically feel the sizzling from her little cocoon, and I ducked out from under the blanket fort to grab Audra’s arm.
Maybe not giving it a flap for a door was a bad idea.
“Audra, seriously? What are you doing here?” The gruffness of my tone seemed to jumpstart Audra’s brain, and she frowned under furrowed brows. Crossing my arms tightly over my chest, I clenched and released my jaw even as she physically readied herself for an explosion.
“Firstly, you turned your phone off and I thought you were dead. You never turn your phone off, Brandon, honestly. More importantly, is that your girlfriend? I feel like I’ve seen her somewhere before—”
“Audra!” Exhaling a hot, sharp breath, I glared at her as her frown deepened. “Get to the point, please.”
“Oh, yeah. Listen, I know you asked me not to interrupt you, but... well, I tried not to, but you’ve never had your phone off before. I just needed to make sure you weren’t dead. I didn’t expect you to be naked with your girlfriend, okay?” Embarrassment crept up my neck at Audra’s nonchalance, but she had the decency to look guilty, at least. “If there’s an emergency, I’ll just call Nathan.”
“Audra, just leave, please. I turned my phone off for a reason. No work this weekend. I thought I explained that to you after that whole issue with Bert yesterday.” Casting her a pointed look when she tried to object, I pursed my lips as she huffed.
“Fine, fine, I’m leaving.” Relief wasn’t a strong enough word to describe how I felt when Audra actually turned around and walked out. Maybe, hopefully, she realized that now definitely wasn’t the time, and I clenched and released my hands by my sides. Watching her disappear behind the front door, I only blew out a breath when it clicked shut.
“That was awful.” Twisting at the grumble, I reached to rub the back of my neck as my nerves were shot. Only offering a bad chuckle, I cleared my throat roughly as Katie leaned on the door frame. “Do you really never turn your phone off? Does your work loom over you like that, even on your days off?”
“Uh, yeah, pretty much. I was actually kind of worried, you know? I almost tried to reschedule. With what happened yesterday, I’m, like, three-quarters expecting Bert to start firing anyone who so much as looks at him. He didn’t take my outburst very well.” Trailing off when Katie sauntered over to me, holding a blanket around herself, I shook my head furiously. “Ah, sorry about Audra. She’s my secretary-slash-friend, but she’s also super-nosy and..."
Nodding with a little giggle, Katie smiled between glowing cheeks as I pursed my lips thinly. My mind worked ridiculously fast, and I wrapped my arm around her waist to draw her to me.
“How about we go swimming? I have a jacuzzi.” Her thoughtful hum was teasing, and I squeezed her supple body as her eyes twinkled brightly. “We can get some food... make a thing of it.”
“Do you have any real food here? Or is it all prop food? I’ll make something.” Pushing herself up on the pads of her feet, Katie kissed my cheek as my breath hitched harshly. Excitement wiggled deep into my chest, and I nodded dumbly before her blanket fell to pool uselessly at her feet. “We can make something together.”
“I don’t know how well that’ll go over if you’re naked.” Creeping down to cup her ass, my palms tingled, and Katie blushed even as her desire blazed from her eyes. “It’s easier now, isn’t it? To... do whatever this is, I mean.”
“I don’t want to go back to the real world. I wish I could stay here and live this fantasy forever.” The longing in her tone struck a chord in me, and I hoisted her up to wrap her legs around my waist. Her lips clung to mine almost desperately, and I cupped the back of her head as I pinned her against the wall. Pushing down my jeans, I ground senselessly against her hot apex, and shivers raced down my spine when I parted her lips with my tongue.
“Monday’s a long way away.”Maybe it doesn’t have to be a fantasy.If Katie noticed my slipup, she didn’t pull away as she flung her arms around my neck and I let the thought float away.
