“I need to drop some letters off at the post office, fill the car up with gas, and pick up a few items from Andy’s Hardware. You can stay in the car during our first two stops, but you will be accompanying me inside the hardware store. She chewed on her lower lip and turned to face him, then lowered her head to stare at her sparkling slippers. “Can I stay home and watch cartoons, Daddy? Please?”
