You could take care of the safehouse clients.

This was why I needed to keep my mind occupied. I was planning a life with Rogue when we’d agreed to nothing more than a hookup. I had no doubt he’d enjoyed our fuck as much as I had, but why would he want anything else.

I could convince him to meet me again, to let me teach him more about how good it could be for me to fuck him to the brink of insanity, but he’d been the rodeo’s perfect playboy, a different woman or man every night—-though he’d kept the men secret. He liked to party and flaunt his skills, but right then, I didn’t want anyone else to touch him. I wanted to lock him up in a cell and only take him out when I needed to fuck him.

Wow. I was really sick. He was probably asleep now. I should just leave.

“Ghost? You okay?”

Or not.

“Yeah. I’ll be there in a second.”

Fuck. What was wrong with me?

I rinsed out the towel and brought it to Rogue. I was going to hand it to him to clean himself up, but he was still on his stomach with his knees tucked under him and his ass in the air. I had to touch him again.

When he was as clean as he was going to get without a shower, I tossed the towel in the direction of the bathroom and pulled him onto his side so I could spoon him.

“I shouldn’t sleep,” he said, but he sounded at least halfway there already.

“It’s okay. I’ll take care of you.”

“I know.”

Those words made my heart skip a beat. How had he accepted me so easily? Most people were afraid of me even after working on a team together. They might trust me to have their back against an enemy, but for anything else, I’d be the last person they turned to.

I stroked Rogue’s side and pressed kisses to the back of his neck and his shoulders.

He sighed and snuggled closer, fitting himself tightly against my body.

If I hadn’t worn myself out so well, I’d be hard again already just from feeling his ass against me.

I caressed him until his steady breathing and relaxed muscles let me know he was asleep.

What had he done to me, and how the hell was I ever going to recover when I had to walk away?

ROGUE

I woke with a start. Where the hell was I? Not in the ranch house. Not back in my RV.

The cabin.

So I hadn’t been dreaming. I shifted position, and the soreness in my ass made that very clear.

I hadn’t meant to fall asleep, but Ghost had thoroughly worn me out. I hadn’t felt that satisfied in… forever.

Through the window, I saw the barest hint of the coming dawn. At least I had time to get back to the house before I needed to start chores.

I turned over, expecting Ghost to be gone. Disappearing was what he did best after all, but he was still there, lying on his back, snoring softly. It looked like I was going to be the one to sneak away. Or I could be brave and wake him up. I glanced at the clock. It was just after four. We had time for another round before I had to be back to start chores. If one of my brothers noticed I was gone, they’d assume I’d found a hookup in town.

Leaving was best for so many reasons, but if I left him sleeping and someone found him… I shouldn’t worry. The chances of that were slim, and they wouldn’t kill him or anything. Probably.

When I slid toward the edge of the bed, a hand clamped around my arm. “Where the hell do you think you’re going?”

“I thought you were asleep.”

“I wake up fast.”

“I’m going back to the house. I’m expected at the barn soon.”

“I know you cowboys start the day early, but it can’t be later than four.”

I looked at the clock again. “It’s 4:09.”

“I said you were mine for the night, and the night isn’t over.”

My heart sped up. His possessiveness was a hell of a turn-on. I tried to tell myself he just wanted me to take care of his morning wood, but I couldn’t shake my excitement at him not wanting to let me go.

This is a hookup, I reminded myself. A one-time thing. He probably won’t even be in Texas much longer.

“What’s the matter? You worried your tight little ass can’t take any more?”

That was much easier to admit than what I had been thinking. “Actually, yes.”

He laughed, and the sound made my chest tighten.

I liked this man. I couldn’t say that about a lot of people.

“Maybe I’ll give your ass a rest and use your mouth instead.”

“My throat’s a little sore too.”

He raised his brows.

“Well, it is. You didn’t go easy on me.”
