“We’ll have to get them in a place no one will see,” Ezra muses.

“Asscheeks,” I blurt out immediately.

They all laugh at me while I scowl at them. “Why are you laughing? No one sees my asscheeks.”

“That’s going to change soon if I have anything to say about it, love.” Hardin all but growls in my ear.

I turn my head so that I can meet his eyes. “Well, that won’t be a problem, will it? Because you’ll already know I have them.”

It’s not lost on them that I don’t immediately deny them, that I didn’t roll my eyes and say it’s never going to happen. Hardin’s blue gaze scans my face, like he’s trying to read the truth of my statement. “You called me your girlfriend today,” I whisper to him.

His lips twitch up. “I did.”

“Does that freak you out?”

His smile grows. “Nope. Does it freak you out?”

“Nope.” The word slips out before I can stop it. His eyes widen and then he’s full on grinning at me, the metal in his lip glinting. I whip back around, avoiding looking at him. Gideon takes pity on me by bringing the conversation back to the situation at hand.

“We could also hide them in other tattoos.”

“I think we should do both,” Fielder says. “Put them in places we don’t bare all that often and hide them so that if someone happens to see them, they won’t immediately recognize what they are.”

Gideon nods. “I’ll work on drawing something up for each of us.”

My brows raise on my forehead. “You draw?”

His lips twist into a smile. “Not as good as you, but I do.” He motions at the ink covering his chest. “I did most of these.”

I take the invitation and examine his tattoos much closer, lifting a hand to brush over a star chart on his ribs. If I look closely, I can see the runes he wove through them expertly, but I don’t know what most of them mean.

“I could draw something,” I say without really thinking about it. “If you want.”

I look up and find all of them watching me. My face goes pink and I shake my head. “Nevermind, it was a bad idea. I’ll just… whatever Gideon does is great.”

“Shut up, Sweeney,” Fielder growls. “We’re all just coming to terms with you offering to mark us.”

Mark them? That sounds like some kind of shifter mating ritual, and that is definitely not what is happening here. Not in the slightest. It’s just me drawing something for them to put on their skin…. like a mark.

“I’d love to have something you’ve drawn on my skin, Ro,” Gideon murmurs, covering my hand with his and pressing it into his flesh. A shiver works its way over me. I nod slowly.

“Okay, I’ll draw something tonight while you’re at your super secret heirs meeting with Morgan. If you don’t like it, please say something. I don’t want you to have a tattoo you hate just because you don’t want to hurt my feelings or you think it’ll help with my trust issues.”

“You don’t have trust issues, Ro.” Ezra shakes his head at me. “We earned your distrust fair and square.”

“And we are eternally grateful that you’re letting us try to make it up to you, love.”

I nod, and pull my hand away from Gideon, looking down at my skirt and smoothing out the fabric. I consider telling them I think they have made it up. That I trust them now, but that feels like too big a statement right now. And they have to leave soon anyway, and we don’t really have time for that entire conversation.

“Me too,” is all I say instead, a small smile curling my lips.

Fielder uncoils from his seat and stretches, tugging his shirt up to reveal a sliver of abs. My mouth waters. Dammit. Why do I have the sudden urge to lick all of them? Why?

He smirks like he can read my thoughts as easily as Gideon did earlier, and I quickly check that I didn’t accidentally activate the communication spell. But I find it’s quiet.

I let out a breath and Fielder bends to press a kiss to my forehead. “We should go,” he murmurs against my skin, skimming his lips down my nose to my mouth. He doesn’t kiss me, just hovers there, letting the ache in me build before he pulls back. “If it gets too late, don’t wait up for us.”

I scowl up at him. “Do you know who you’re talking to, Harris? I film half of my videos in the middle of the night. I can handle staying up until you get back.”
