I nod as I pull open the door to the building. “That makes sense.”

“Of course, it does,” Fielder all but snaps at me, making my eyes go wide at his sudden frustration.

“Easy, mate. Just cause you’re exhausted and worried doesn’t mean you can talk to her like that.” Hardin’s stopped swinging my hand, and I let go of it. Approaching Fielder with a fair bit of trepidation.

“Are you okay?” I ask, peering up at him, noting the circles under his eyes have gotten deeper.

His expression softens, his green eyes turn the color of sun dappled moss, and he tugs me toward him, curling his body around mine. “I’m sorry, Sweeney,” he murmurs against the top of my head. “I just cannot wait until you’re a full-fledged member of the coven and we can put all of this bullshit behind us.”

I wrap my arms around him and hug him back, opting for physical comfort rather than arguing that no matter what we do, this will never be over. Not unless we somehow manage to take his dad down.

But the likelihood of that is slim to none.

I pull back and look up at him again. “I know. Which is why I keep trying to get you to slow down and take a break.”

He runs his eyes over me before nodding slowly. “You’re right. This weekend I’ll spend all of Saturday afternoon not doing anything.”

“We’llspend all of Saturday afternoon not doing anything,” I correct, glancing over my shoulder. “All of us.”

“Let’s take our girl on a date!” Hardin crows, his voice far too loud in the empty hall.

My stomach immediately clenches, both in excitement and trepidation. Our situation is uncommon. Super uncommon. Around campus, it’s not so weird to be seen with all of them. No one would say anything except for Morgan and her cronies. But going out into town with people that aren’t terrified of the four men around me? Yeah, that might be weird.

Fielder smiles like he senses my trepidation and tugs me closer. “I think that’s a great idea.”

“We’ll plan everything, Ro,” Ezra assures me. “You’ll have a great time. And you won’t think about all this bullshit once.”

I arch a brow at him. “That’s a big promise to make, Ez.”

He grins and shrugs. “It’s one I can deliver on.”

I nod slowly, returning his smile. “Okay, deal. But until then,” I untangle myself from Fielder and step away from him, moving closer to a door not far down the hall. “I’m gonna go to class. See you after!” I whirl, yank open the door just as Fielder curses.

“Sweeney!” I hear just as the door closes behind me.

“Nice of you to join us, Miss. Sweeney.” I give the professor a winning smile and hurry toward my normal seat, avoiding looking at the window in the door where I know at least one of them will be glaring at me.

“I have nothing to wear!” I groan Saturday morning after stomping into my living room and finding Merritt there, reading a book and sipping tea. The book is not a textbook, and that draws me up short, eyeing the cover of a couple wound around each other and the titleKissin bold gold letters.

“Any good?” I ask, jerking my chin at the paperback.

Merritt’s face goes red and she nods. “Its so good. I thought I would do some research on reverse harems, since my best friend is in one.”

My mouth falls open. “Thats- I’m not- Why would you call it that?”

She smirks at me as she closes the book and sets it neatly on the coffee table. “Because that’s what it is. You have a harem of guys just waiting to do your bidding.”

I grumble under my breath as I stomp into the kitchen and grab a cup of coffee. My mood only marginally improves when I see Merritt has already been to the dining hall and grabbed pastries for me.

“You are a goddess,” I mumble around a bite of blueberry danish. “Have I told you that? Let’s ditch all the penises and get married. ”

She laughs and pats the couch next to her. “Just say when, and I’m there.”

I flop onto the cushion. “After we graduate. We’ll have a quiet ceremony on the beach in Hawaii. We’ll both wear bathing suits and white cover-ups and then go swimming immediately after.”

Merritt’s nose wrinkles. “You’ve really thought about this a lot, huh?”

“My marriage to you? Yes, I sure have.” I tip my head so it rests on the back of the couch. “It’s such a shame that I like dicks so much.”
