He struts toward the woman, and when he gets close, her eyes light up when she sees he’s coming to talk to her. It’s less than a minute before he has her on the dance floor. My lips pull into a frown as I watch them.

“You want to warn her, huh?”

I blink and turn my head to see my beautiful wife, glowing in her wedding dress. I smile and cup her chin before kissing her on the lips. She takes my hands and leans into me, waiting several moments before breaking the kiss.

“Don’t worry,” she says, laying her head on my shoulder and looking out at the dance floor. “I told him all guests are off limits.”

“Doesn’t appear that he’s listened.”

She chuckles and runs her finger over my wedding ring. “He’ll be a good boy. I promise.”

“Mmm.” I trail my fingers over the top of her dress, dipping into her cleavage. “Question is, areyougoing to be a goodgirl?”

She licks her lips and grins. “Never.”

“That’s what I figured.”

She slaps my chest and laughs. A piece of hair falls in her face, and she tucks it behind her ear.

“Tell you what.” She leans in close so only I’ll hear. “Tonightwe can do whatever you want. I’ll be your puppet. Just the way you like.”

My cock stirs, and I shift so that I’m facing her. “Yeah?”

She waggles her brows.

“Well then I guess it’s convenient that I don’t want a good girl.”

“Lucky you.” She gives me a wink, then takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor.

People make way for us until it’s just the two of us dancing, our bodies pressed together with memories of our first date flooding my mind. If we weren’t surrounded by friends and family, she’d probably be grinding on me.

“What were you talking to Alex about?” I whisper into her ear.

“She was just giving me a heads up on what it’s like to be in your family.”

“Good things, I hope.”

“Excitingthings,” she says with a smile. “Nothing I didn’t already know.”

“I would hope. You’ve been family for months.”

“Yeah,” she says, her eyes suddenly glistening. “Yeah, I have.”

“You think you can take it?” I ask, my heart beating a little faster.

She looks at me with a love in her eyes I never craved before her, but that I now couldn’t live without. She’s my whole world. My person who makes everything I do, every day I live, mean something. I can see her now, my children in her arms, my grandmother’s ring on her finger.

“This is where I belong,” she says, a happy tear spilling onto her cheek. “I love you, Blade.”

I grip her waist and bend to kiss her lips. Cheers sound around us, but I tune them out until the only thing is my love, my wife, my best friend.

When she pulls away, she wipes the corners of her lips and looks around at the crowd of people. She bites her lip like she always does when she’s nervous, and I cup her face so she’ll look at me.

“I love you too.”
