“This is so good,” Altair moaned into her ear. “So right.”

“Please.”

He continued stroking her clit in motion to his pounding cock.

“You’re mine, Meghan. All mine.”

“Yes,” she answered, desperate for more.

She didn’t even care that he’d used the wrong name, she couldn’t deny the truth of his words. Not when her body wanted nothing more than for him to fill her. Fill her with his cock. With his fingers. With his seed. The intensity of his voice combined with the possessive way he pounded his cock into her left her wanting him like she’d never wanted anything before.

“I love you,” he said, circling her clit one more time and she exploded, her body clenching him. He roared as he came inside her, staying buried deep as she unraveled around him.

She lay immobile on the bed, his weight crushing her under him, their breathing coming in matching ragged breaths.

“I love you,” Altair repeated, between labored breaths.

As the blood rushed back to her head, she wondered, what theshardhad she done?

Nova went to Elizabeth’s office the next day.

She’d avoided answering Altair’s declaration of love. He didn’t seem to mind, probably realizing himself that she wasn’t ready for that yet.

Yet? Ever!

She would never fall in love with him.

She needed to get off Mudden and back to the real world. She already felt disgusted about using Altair’s lust to get the key from him. Maybe it’d been fair considering he’d forced her to marry him in the first place. He was hardly innocent. But using his love against him felt wrong. She could never go that far, not if she still wanted to be able to look at herself in the mirror.

She would have to explain to Altair that physical attraction didn’t necessarily mean love. She couldn’t blame him for not knowing that when he’d never been allowed to experience either before, but she needed to set him straight now.

And she was planning on telling Elizabeth that it was time to send her home.

She told the nurse at the front desk that she needed to speak to Elizabeth. The nurse went into Elizabeth’s office and came back out immediately.

“Wait here,” she said, pointing at one of the benches.

Elizabeth came out five minutes later.

“Come in,” she said, giving Nova a scolding look.

“You shouldn’t be here,” she said as she closed the door behind Nova.

“That’s too bad because I’m not leaving until you agree to get me off Mudden.”

“What happened?”

“What do you mean, what happened?” Nova struggled to keep her voice down so their conversation couldn’t be heard in the hall. “They hang rebels here! How long before I’m next?”

“Brent is fine. The plan worked. Rex is getting him to safety now.”

“After he was beaten almost to death. And Neil isn’t fine, he’s dead. How could you bring me here?”

“Nova calm down. I told you this mission would be dangerous.”

“Stealing is dangerous, but it’s not ‘torture and execution’ dangerous. You had to know that I didn’t understand the real danger.”
