I was fucking screwed.

The men were all staring at me, so I stared back, asking, “Why did you grab me?”

There was a moment of silence.

My gaze scanned the three in front of me. The two behind me, I’d check out later.

One had bleach-blond hair that was shaved on the sides, pale skin, and was covered in black, orange, and red tattoos from neck to toe, all that inked-up skin evidenced by the colorful shorts he had on.

One had buzzed, black hair and dark brown skin, with a few shimmering tattoos on his gigantic biceps. He wore a pair of shorts similar to the blond guy’s, but in navy fabric.

One had brown hair that was cut like most of the choir boys who’d been such dicks to me back at my high school. His skin was light with a bit of a sun-tan, and he had on a pair of tight black pants with cuts in the knees.

They all looked so… different.

I mean, massive, sure. But I’d survived a co-ed juvie long enough to know that size didn’t mean a fucking thing—and that meant bastards came in every shape, color, and gender.

These guys hadn’t hurt me yet, so I was giving them the benefit of the doubt.

“Welcome to Vevol. We are the strongest of the seelie fae. To your people, we are the Wild Hunt,” one of the men behind me said.

I turned around to see him. Giving any of them my back was dangerous, but they encircled me, so there wasn’t a way around that.

Since I wasn’t sure which of the men had spoken, I eyed them both.

One had tan skin, a few tattoos, and a mass of curly light brown hair tied up in a man-bun. He wore a pair of small shorts that showed a hell of a lot more than I wanted to see.

The other had black hair, curly on the top and cropped close on the sides. His skin was light, and he wore a pair of black pants along with a shirt that looked like a gray muscle-tee.

“Our lake has begun the process of changing you. When it’s done, you will run, and we will hunt,” the dark-haired man said.

His voice was low and smooth, way sexier than it should’ve been considering he had fucking kidnapped me with the rest of his seelie fae bastards.

“I willwhat?”

“Run.” The man’s gaze was intense, and I nearly shuddered.

“Why run?”

“Because it’s Winter Solstice, and your people promised ours one of your females every year. Whichever of us catches you first will mate with you,” one of the guys behind me said.

I spun back to the guys back there, my eyes narrowed and scanning the group. Once again, I didn’t know which one had been talking. “Mate, meaning what?”

“Eternal companion,” the choir boy dude said.

Shit.

“Like a wife?” I checked. “As in, person you spend your life with?”

“Yes.” The blond guy flashed me a feral grin.

There was no fucking way I’d be able to outrun any of these guys.

“I don’t feel like I’m changing,” I told him. “Can you take me back to Earth?”

“No. Even if we wanted to, the portal only opens for two minutes during the solstice every year. You’re stuck with us.” His eyes gleamed.

Fucking hell.
