“What can I do for you, Ginger?”

“I’m sorry. He’s shit faced and his head isn’t screwed on straight. Anyway, we have an update for you.”

“I’m listening.”

“Damien pushed back the date of the Harvest. It’s next Friday, on Halloween. Also, Damien revealed to Jace his plans for overtaking the Valley. This partnership with Crane, Alesi, and Sinclair, it’s only temporary. His real plan is to slaughter them after they’ve stormed your father’s territory.”

“That makes sense,” Cindy whispered beside me. “Damien can’t rule the whole Valley unless he’s the last man standing.”

“Did he saywhenhe’s planning to make his move against us?”

“Not yet, no. As far as we know, he’s—”

“Finn,” Jace shouted out in the background. “Tell him about what happened with Finn.”

“Right,” Ginger replied. “So, there’s another Outlaw, Finn. Jace says you should know who he’s talking about.”

“Hardly,” I sneered. “I’m familiar with the name but I’ve never met the guy.”

“Finn is my,” Ginger started, hesitating before she spoke again, “well, it’s complicated really, but that’s besides the point. The day that Outlaw was killed on your turf, Finn was there. He saw the whole thing go down.”

“What?” I growled, my dark eyes protruding wide as Cindy gasped beside me.

“Yes. Finn stood by and let his comrade die and Damien knows about it. He knows your brother killed the guy.”

“And that’s it?” I challenged, my heart pounding. “This Finn guy didn’t mention anything else?”

My guts clenched as she grew quiet. Knowing there was another Outlaw there who’d witnessed what happened only made shit worse. If this Finn guy was really there, then that meant he saw Samara with Rhett.

Which meant…

Fuck…

If Damien knew about Samara too, he’d come after her. He’d come after them both.

Goddamnit.

He’d fucking enslave Samara and do only God knows what to her.

“Jace says no,” Ginger answered a minute later. “He said he only mentioned your brother, nothing else.”

I sighed, relieved, but at the same time I couldn’t help but feel cynical. Something wasn’t right about this. Why would this Outlaw throw Rhett under the bus but not mention anything about Samara? At our meeting, Jace told me this Finn fucker was his friend, so was it possible he did it to keep Samara safe knowing what could happen to her if Damien discovered she was there?

Yeah, that had to be it. Which meant Finn might actually be one of the good guys like Jace had promised.

It still didn’t stop the fucker from outing my own goddamn brother to that sick son of a bitch. That, I was not fucking happy about.

“And you swear you don’t know what Damien’s next move is?” I asked.

“Against the Ravagers, no. As far as we know, Damien’s laying low, waiting to see if any of you are planning to retaliate. He’s had his men keeping eyes and ears out around the club and on the streets so he can focus on the Harvest. He’s already kidnapped three more teenagers. They’ll be there with me and the two other women.”

“Where is the Harvest being held?”

Ginger fell silent, and as I heard her whisper something to Jace, I turned to Cindy, mouthing out that I needed a piece of paper and something to write with. Cindy returned with the items just as Ginger began speaking again.

“It’s at the abandoned airport. Jace says Crane, Alesi, and Sinclair will be there and they’ll be armed. The women will be held and transported in the back of a semi-truck. There’ll be four trucks total.”

I jotted everything down as she spoke, nodding to myself when I was finished.
