“Did your father ever mention Nereza?” Antonio cross-examines.

“What the fuck?” Sean mumbles.

“My father and I only discussed matters of importance related to family business,” we heard her reply.

“You and I are connected, Hadley,” he informs her. “But enough of that for now; it’s time for business.”

Without having Hadley question him any further, Antonio states the arms shipment he stole from Virginia is secure within his compound, and he would like that deal finalized before any further talks of him and Alejandro joining forces.

“And I want US dollars, Alejandro, not pesos.”

“As you wish,” Alejandro confirms.

“It’s time,” Sean declares. “One of the guards has left, so we must advance into the compound now.”

Thanks to Gerrick’s initial intel, we knew that one of the guards left every hour to do rounds which would give us our chance to enter. Edging closer, Ant and I flank one side of the gate, allowing Sean enough time to position himself on the other side.

“Ready,” he alerts us once he is in position.

The entry plan was to wait until one guard left, and then Sean would take out the second guard. Once clear, Ant and I need to position ourselves near the front entrance of the building just as Jackson and his team are nearing the rear. Sean would then hang back and take care of the second guard before joining his father and me.

“We have a problem,” Jackson forewarns us. “The number of guys protecting the house has doubled.”

“Those will be Alejandro’s men,” I tell him.

As we creep closer, it appears that we face the same dilemma. “We have multiples as well,” I confirm.

“We will take care of them,” Mark then interjects. “Watch your old asses, boys.”

“Don’t worry about us; make sure Mandi stays safe.” Antony insists.

“Will do.”

Eight men are lined up in front of Antonio’s front door, not the three we expected. Most of those will belong to the Cali family and will be protecting Alejandro. The sound of rustling alerts Ant and me, but that eases when we see Sean shuffling toward us.

“How do you want to do this?” he asks.

“We are going to have to do this fast and quick. There are eight of them and only three of us,” his father explains.

“Wait, look.”

Directing our attention toward the door, four men suddenly disappear inside, granting us the opportunity to take out the rest before they return.

“Let’s do this,” Sean announces as he slowly moves away from us toward his target.

As we advance upon the four men, they are unaware of our presence, allowing us to shoot them one by one. Before the fourth one knows what’s going on, Sean is on him. With ease, he places one bullet into his target’s temple watching as he falls before him.

“Let’s move them before the others return,” he directs, grabbing his last kill first.

When Antony and I first introduced Sean to this lifestyle, I wondered if he was cut out for it. Firstly, he’d been a fifteen-year-old boy, and secondly, he was gentle like his mother.

All that changed, though, when Sherlyn died and he met Hadley.

What we saw, as a result, was a determined, skilled young man who, at times, can still be caring but is also capable of being lethal when required.
