“Nah, but I’ll give you a hint.” His smirk turns teasing. “I’ll stick around while you make a meal of this guy so I can enjoy your venom’s effect on him.” He starts a slow gait toward me.

I raise an eyebrow. “What effect?”

He stops in his tracks. “You don’t know that your venom has a sexual effect on people? Damn, how new are you?”

My back stiffens. Thinking back, it does sound familiar that Aly and her guys mentioned this. It was why they wouldn’t let me feed from them. They said it was intimate. I was so new at the time I didn’t process it.

I swing back around, glaring at the human. He doesn’t deserve pleasure. “Leave and forget everything.”

He turns and walks away, leaving me alone with the stranger.

He quirks an eyebrow. “You gave up your meal?”

“It wasn’t about feeding,” I say defensively.

I stride to the staff door that’s cracked open. I need to escape this guy and fast. The door will lock behind me.

He’s in front of me in a second, blocking my path.

“Don’t go. You could feed from me if you’d like?” He offers.

My mouth waters at the idea. His blood is tempting me from here. He must see my hesitation because next thing I know, he’s nicked his thumb. The scent of his blood surrounds me like an aphrodisiac. I want it.

He steps closer, crowding me against the wall. It feels like I’m trapped in his web. He presses his arm above my head, showing off how built he is. This stranger is a living, breathing temptation.

“I’m Griffyn. What’s your name?” He whispers.

Without thought, I answer, “Anna.”

His smile is downright dirty as he flashes his perfectly straight, white teeth and lifts his thumb closer to my mouth. My eyes shift down to his lips while the intoxicating scent of his blood floods my senses. Arousal coils in my stomach.

Griffyn freezes, staring at me with wide smoky eyes that seem to glow, before stumbling back.

What just happened?

“I, uh, have to go,” He mumbles before literally running away.

I stand frozen against the wall, replaying every moment and wondering what happened? How did I let him pull me in so easily? I felt like I was trapped in a spell.

I would normally never let a guy corner me outside without anyone around, let alone another supernatural. And I was turned on! Which is crazy.

What was I thinking? That was dangerous!

I should tell Aly there’s another supernatural in town. One that just seduced me outside the bar, though I should probably leave that part out. I shouldn’t even mention it and worry her unnecessarily. If he were dangerous, he wouldn’t have run away. Not to mention, the supernatural circle in town is pretty tight, so I would know if he lived here. I’m sure he’s just visiting, so I won’t run into him again.

I head back into the bar. My break is over, and I need to get back inside before Mike comes to look for me. It would be hard to explain why I’m hanging out by a dumpster.

I return behind the bar and distract myself by making drinks. It works well, and before too long, I’m at the end of my shift.

There was no one else causing issues, so at least it was uneventful.

Even knowing my venom’s effect, I don’t know if I can stop feeding off the predators that I stop. I don’t want them to feelanythinggood after what they’ve done, but I can’t go without feeding for too long. I’m sure Aly would feed me but I want to be self-dependent. I’ll have to find a solution that doesn’t involve her.

A problem for another day.

When I make it back home, I pull out my phone to check it after a long shift. I respect Mike too much to be using it at work.

There are two missed calls from my mom.
