I snort, picturing a bear laying out on a gurney.

Blaze opens his door, pushing out of the vehicle first. Aksel quickly follows suit. Since I’m trapped in the middle, I have to wait for either Griffyn or Felix to move.

Both of them turn hungry eyes on me.

“Do you think Blaze was in such a rush because the car is full of Anna’s arousal?” Griffyn asks, teasing.

I can feel heat on my cheeks, and I’m sure they’re beet red.

“Trust me, it’s the most decadent scent I’ve ever smelled. I might be addicted to it already. It’s like the ripest berries.” Felix groans when he says it, only making my blush worse.

“Shouldn’t we get out of here and join them?” I ask, trying to push Felix closer to his door. He doesn’t budge.

“We should pick this back up later. There’s a lot of possibilities here,” Felix says before opening his door and ending the conversation.

I won’t be answering him when Aksel or Blaze could hear me.

Obviously, Felix seems okay with sharing me with Griffyn but shouldn’t a mate be more possessive than that?

I follow him out to see Aksel glaring at us. Blaze’s face is indifferent, but he’s not making eye contact with me. Shit.

“What took you so long?” Aksel asks.

“Oh, the door got stuck,” Felix says, smiling.

It’s obviously a lie, he has shifter strength, but no one calls him on it.

Griffyn walks around the car and joins us, brushing up against my side.

Aksel leads the way inside. As soon as we are through the doors, it’s like a transformation. It is a full blown hospital inside, complete with an emergency room. No one looks up or cares when we walk inside.

Aksel leads us away from the emergency room and over to the front desk.

“We are here to see someone. A Mr. Eugine Garfield,” Felix tells the worker. He must have gotten his name when they called to tell him we could come and ask questions.

She looks up and immediately blushes when she sees the group of four attractive males staring at her. She pushes a lock of hair behind her ear.

“Of course! Let me find his room for you right away!” The smiles she gives them are downright flirtatious, but none of them engage.

She completely ignores me, but I would too. I’m not offended. Only one of them technically belongs to me, and I haven’t even claimed that yet. At least, that’s what I tell myself. Something about it doesn’t sit right in my stomach, but I push it to the side.

“He’s in room 404. You’ll want to use the elevator bank over there,” She points to our left. “I could show you if you’d like?”

“We’ve got it! Thank you,” Felix says brightly. He grabs my hand, tugging me behind him as he goes.

“No need to be jealous, Kitten. I only want you.”

I roll my eyes. “I’m not jealous. Don’t be ridiculous!” But my voice comes out a little squeaky, and I’m not sure it’s very convincing.

We beat the others over there since Felix was practically sprinting. He spins around to face me, wrapping his arm around me and tilting my face up to his.

“You never have to be jealous when it comes to me. I’ve been searching for my mate, and now that I have you, you’re it for me. Promise.”

This moment is too intense. His beautiful hazel eyes are shining down at me with sincerity, and my heart is beating a little too fast.

Thankfully, the others turn the corner and break the moment. Felix drops his lips to mine for a quick peck, then hits the button to go up.

“I will take the lead on questions,” Aksel says once we are inside the elevator.
