I knock on the door a few times, conscious to be a bit less authoritative than usual. I hate to try to act as a drill sergeant when it’s clear that she needs some warmth in her life.

But at the end of the day, I have no choice.

“Mika, we’ve got to leave in a half-hour so we don’t hit traffic,” I say to her through the door.

“I’m not going,” she replies, slightly muffled as she faces the wall. She’s been favoring that side of her bedroom lately, as if she’s subconsciously trying to escape from everybody in her life – not just Izet.

I sigh as the weight of my frustration grows. She’s been such a pain in the ass to deal with lately, as if she wasn’t bad enough before. At least in the beginning, she had a sexy little rebellious streak that kept me on my toes. This is justsad.

“Mika, you need to leave your bedroom today. We only have to stay out for one movie, and then we can come back. When was the last time you saw a movie?”

Silence.

“I don’t give a shit. I don’t want to do anything. I’m fine where I am,” she insists, this time with some bass in her voice.

At least she can still yell at me.

I open the door slowly, peering in as I notice a disaster of a mess on her floor. There are empty food bags, bottles, and cartons strewn about the entire room. She has her shades drawn, of course, but in the dim light from the hallway I can see that she’s removed the lightbulbs from her overhead lamp.

This is worse than I thought.

“Just leave. I don’t need you here to see this,” she mutters, still lying on her left side as she stares at the pile of laundry in the corner of the room.

“I don’t care about any of this right now. We can clean it later. Just put on some clean clothes and let’s go,” I reply, doing my best to remain empathetic and not lose my patience.

She whines a little, lifting the blanket over her head and curling into a ball. Her bed hasn’t been made in at least two weeks, so she’s just a pile of fabric on a bare mattress.

I groan, my muscles tensing as I hold back my anger.

“Mika, please. I don’t ask you for much. Hell, I never ask you for anything when I think about it. But I need you to do this one thing for me today. Just come with me to the movie, make sure your dad believes that you’re happy, and then you can come back and lie in garbage for all I care.”

“Why do you even give a fuck? The whole time you’ve been here, I’ve been begging you to take me places. Now that I don’t want to go, you’re forcing me? This is bullshit!” she shouts.

I can feel a headache forming in the front of my skull, and I already know that it’s only going to get worse as this conversation continues.

“You know that things are different now. Don’t pretend that you don’t. I don’t have time to argue with you about what’s changed, but you know I’ll get you out of that bed myself if you won’t do it. I’m asking you to out of mercy for you.”

It takes her a moment to relent to my demand, but she throws the blanket off her face dramatically. At least we’re making progress.

“All I want right now is for everyone to leave me the fuck alone. Don’t you understand? How is that hard for everyone to do?” she says, balancing on the edge of tears and anger.

“You need to do something else for once. Lying in bed all day is terrible for you and is only going to make you feel worse. Why don’t you do something you enjoy?” I ask, growing bewildered at her unrelenting defiance.

“How do you know I enjoy anything?” she asks with skepticism and a hint of mockery.

“I don’t fucking know, Mika. Everyone enjoys things. You literally have the entire world at your disposal with the kind of money your dad has, so use it. Damn,” I reply as I begin to lose my temper. I’ve always hated how spoiled she can be at times.

By some miracle, she braces herself on the bed and lifts herself into an upright position. “Actually, do you know what Idoenjoy?”

I exhale deeply, preparing myself for whatever bullshit she’s about to throw at me.

“What do you enjoy, Mika?”

“I enjoy being fucked by you. That’s it. That’s all I enjoy. So if you want me to be happy and put on a show for everyone, you should just fuck me,” she replies with a devious smirk.

Goddamn it.

Even though I know better, even though I’ve talked myself out of this a thousand times, I feel my dick start to twitch at the mention of fucking her. I should be better than this. I need to fight it this time.
