His eyes lock with mine. Seeing they’re filled with domination and possessiveness, a shiver races down my spine.

“This time, I claimed you.”

I stare at him, and oddly, the words make me feel safe.

“I had to hold back until I got approval. Now that you’re mine, and I got to claim you, there’s no escaping, Aurora.”

Hearing him say my name tells me he’s deadly serious.

For a moment, his eyes turn cold. “I’ll fucking kidnap you if I have to.”

Meaning if my father refuses to let us be together, Misha will just take me.

“Do I have a choice in the matter?” I ask.

He raises an eyebrow. “Do you want a choice?”

I think for a moment, my teeth tugging at my bottom lip.

If I’m forced to choose between my family and Misha… could I make such a big life-changing decision?

I’d choose Misha, but my guilt of abandoning my family would make me miserable.

His palm rests against my cheek, his thumb brushing over my bottom lip. “That’s why I’m making the decision for you,moy malen'kiy olen'.”

Even though I know it will be a waste of time to even try, I say, “I could talk to my father.”

Misha shakes his head. “We both know he won’t listen.” He’s quiet for a moment, then he says, “Viktor has a condition.”

“What?”

“Your father has to submit to the bratva.”

My eyes widen, and I shake my head. “So we can’t be together until that happens?”

No.

Misha’s eyes are intense as they bore into mine. “Things might get ugly when I talk to him.”

“Ugly…as in…” my words trail away.

“One of us might not walk out of the meeting,” he spells it out for me.

Pushing away from Misha, I climb off the bed and walk to the bathroom. I shut the door, and pressing my forehead to the wood, I take deep breaths.

My emotions are all over the place.

I can’t lose Misha. Or my father.

My mother would never forgive me.

I have to do something.

When I go home for my mom’s birthday, I’ll just have to face my father. I’ll tell him I love Misha, and I’ll beg him to submit to the bratva.

Jesus, that’s such a bad idea.

There’s a knock at the door, then Misha says, “Open,Krasivaya.”
