“No. Now. Damn it, or… or… you’ll stop!” Her words careened through the small space, and Aiden could only hope her neighbors weren’t home. The walls weren’t thick enough to muffle her threats. Like she could stop.

“Is that so?” he taunted. He lifted her and adjusted his position, dropping her back on the thin mattress. He could feel each and every spring beneath his knees. He moved to the end of the bed and parted her bent knees. Positioned himself at the apex of her vagina and pressed against her.

She was tight. He wasn’t quite sure he believed her when she’d said she wasn’t a virgin. So, he went slow despite her threats.

She was slick, and he eased forward.

She panted rapid breaths and he backed out, his penis twitching with the effort.

He pushed forward again.

Her hands gripped his ass and she dug in.

Throb. Throb. Throb.

He vibrated inside out with need.

She pulsed against him. And screamed as she was hit with another climax. It was too much. He rammed his dick in her and couldn’t stop. He pounded and pounded and pounded until she came again, and her body sucked the come out of him in long-drawn shudders, complete with blinding spots behind his eyes.

His own shout rattled the windows.

ACT II, SCENE 7: TERESA’S BEDCHAMBER WITH THE DOCTORS. ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR (OUT OF SIGHT), BEAUREGARD PACES WITH WORRY.

Teresa’s Father

(Harsh, yet scared)

Will she see again?

Doctor

(Professional)

’Tis too soon to tell.

Teresa’s Father

(Impatient)

She saw light for God’s sake.

Doctor

Time will tell, my lord. We must exhibit patience

The castclasped hands and took their bows as one for the sold-out crowd of four hundred.

Maylis risked a glance at Aiden, meeting his eyes. He shot her a quick wink and lifted their arms then lowered them for a second bow as the shouts went wild.

Opening night was over. Her nerves were a mass of flutters. Had the Broadway scouts showed? And what did it mean if they had? The play was good. The cast was good. There was a total of seven performances. Five evening shows and two matinees. She couldn’t think past tonight. Next week would be time enough to worry for the next round of auditions.

The cast filed off the stage where a flurry of activity was taking place. There was no way to avoid dinner with everyone. No matter the production, no matter the city, no matter one’s standing in the production, dinner was a requirement on Opening Night.

Maylis made her way to the women’s dressing room. She changed into her street clothes and scrubbed the greasepaint off her face. Her comfy cowl-neck, jersey knit dress of gray, and black boots were casual but dressy enough to pass muster should the need arise. People would see them.

“You going over?” Tina, who played the tall, middle-aged, housekeeper married to the butler, asked.
