I look around for my clothes. One sock. That’s all I managed to keep on. If I’d known the day was going to go like this I would’ve at least tried to find two that matched. I find my pants and underwear, and am hunting for my bra, how things get lost in a place this small is beyond me, while the day runs through my mind. Not the day necessarily, but the last few hours. From the time Brady came barreling out of nowhere to protect me, to the walk, to the bank. To how he always looks at me, then down a little, grinning. To the way he touched me, kissed me. There was nothing in any of the day that even hinted at anything besides what I’d felt with him before he walked out.

He was a gentleman. He wanted to protect me. He wanted to keep me safe. He wanted to just be with me.

I find my bra underneath the coffee table and fasten the hooks in front of me, twisting it around and slipping my arms through the straps. Maybe he was going for condoms. If so, it wasn’t because he was trying to avoid problems for him. He was trying to protect me. To keep me safe.

Funny, I think. The idea of spending the rest of my life with him, raising a child with him, none of that seemed dangerous to me in any way at all.

* * *

Fifteen minutes later, true to his word, he comes back, takes me by the hand, and walks me down to where his car is parked in front of the building.

“Dinner?” I ask, unsure of what he could have in mind. “It’s a little early but okay.”

He laughs and opens the door for me. “Eventually,” is what he says.

I settle down in my seat and am hooking my seatbelt when I see he’s stopped on the sidewalk, talking to someone. It doesn’t really surprise me, I guess. Arden is just small enough for things like that to happen, and with him being a cop and all, I don’t know, I guess I assume he just knows people. Whoever it is keeps trying to look over his shoulder, into the car. Finally, I just wave and wait.

Brady finishes up the conversation, maybe a little sooner than the other guy was hoping, it seems, and rounds the front of the car, climbing in beside me.

“Probies,” is all he says, pulling out into the street.

That was twenty minutes ago, and where he took me, well, to be honest, I didn’t know such a place even existed. At least not in this town.

I’m looking out a floor-to-ceiling window that makes up not one, but two of the walls in the room. Brady is behind me, talking on the phone, setting up a room service order, it sounds like. He’s sitting on the side of an actual king-sized bed, another thing I’ve never seen in real life, next to a tub that looks like it could fit a half dozen people. Or maybe tub isn’t the word. Jacuzzi? That seems more posh.

I’ve seen this building before, I realize. We’re directly in the middle of downtown Arden. The tallest building there is, and here I am, standing on the top floor, looking out over an entire section of town. I can see the school off ahead of me, the campus seeming so much smaller from ten floors up. A few cars crawl around the streets, stopping at intersections, oblivious to the girl looking down at them.

My breath fogs the glass just a little and I hear him hang up, pad across the floor, and feel his hands around my waist. He leans in and kisses the side of my neck.

“You deserve better than this,” he says softly. “Next time it’ll be even better.”

I turn in his arms and look at him. “There’s nothing better than this,” I say, feeling foolish, like a small-town girl, but at the same time, I mean every word of it. The idea, the thought, the desire in him to make this not an interaction, athing, but a moment, and for me. I’ve said it so more than once, but when it came to my ‘first time,’ this wasn’t even on my radar.

“I’ve wanted you since the first time I saw you,” he says, brushing my hair back and kissing me lightly on the lips.

“I’m nervous,” I say, almost without thinking. It’s what he does to me. The words just come out. No filter, no hesitation.

“I’ll take care of you,” he says. “I almost can’t believe I’m so lucky.”

I look up at him.

“To make you mine,” he says. “Always and only mine.”

He leans me back against the glass and kisses me, washing my nervousness away and replacing it with a burning, almost uncontrollable excitement. I pull him in tightly, up on my toes, my arms around his neck. He hooks his hand under my bottom, myass, I correct myself, and turns, carrying me over to the bed. He lays me down, pulling his shirt up over his head and I can see it in his eyes--this time is going to be just like before. He wants to continue where he left off, overwhelming me, making my toes curl and my thighs quiver. He reaches down and lifts my shirt over my head.

But now I get to surprise him again.

“No,” I say, sitting up and reaching for his belt buckle. “Now it’s my turn.”

His eyes widen just slightly and he runs his hand along my hair. “Are you sure?”

“I want you,” I say, undoing his belt and button.

“That sounds so perfect,” he sighs, opening up the front of his jeans as I work the zipper. “Tell me again.”

“I want you,” I say, rubbing my hand along his cock. “I want you, Brady. All of you. Everywhere.”

I slip his boxers down, taking in a quick breath when I see all of him for the first time. His cock is so thick, so hard. The slightest bit of precome slips down the length of his shaft and I swallow, my mouth watering for him.
