“Would you prefer it if he were grumpy like Klaus? Or you?”

“I’m not grumpy.”

“Beg to differ.” I hop up on my toes and kiss him sweetly, searching for answers in his eyes. “Tell me what you’re thinking, Gabriel. What aren’t you telling me?”

Gabriel’s gaze holds my own, his mouth opening just to shut again. “I’m thinking… I want to take you back to the hotel and remind you who you belong to.”

I can’t help but grin. “I like this color on you.”

“Is that so?”

“It’s fucking sexy, knowing you want me this bad.” I slide my hands down between us and make quick work of his belt, nipping at his bottom lip with my teeth. “Why wait to get back to the hotel? Let’s just do it here.”

“You can’t be serious.” He looks arounds.

I palm the hardening bulge in the front of his pants. “Does it bother you when Anders smiles at me? Makes me laugh? Don’t pretend you weren’t annoyed when I pressed myself against him. Do you think he liked it? Maybe he wants a repeat performance.”

Gabriel spins me around, his cock digging against my ass. “You really are a little minx.”

“I thought I was a little bird?”

“A little bird who’s going to learn her lesson.”

I yelp when he yanks my jeans down, his hot breath against my ear as he curses in French. We’re safely tucked away in the shadows of the alley, hidden from view, but there’s a certain thrill about doing this in such a public place. I’m wet with the realization that he has to have me. Right here, right now —damn the consequences.

“You drive me fucking insane,” he growls against the crook of my neck, kissing hard enough to leave fresh marks on my skin. He reaches around and slides one big hand down the front of my jeans and the gusset of my underwear, his fingers brushing my sensitive clit.

I’m unhinged. So raw and electric andalive.

Gabriel draws quick, tight circles against me. Every nerve in my body thrums with adrenaline and excitement. The intense heat deep within my core grows brighter and brighter, driving me closer and closer to the edge when—

He stops.

I moan in frustration, bucking against his hand in search of release. “W-what do you think you’re doing?” I demand.

Gabriel clicks his tongue. “Teaching you a lesson.”

Chapter 24

Gabriel

She’s thoroughly flustered by the time we get back to the hotel. Her lips are pressed into a thin line, her brows knitted together, her cheeks and chest flushed either from arousal or the chill or both. The moment I get her alone, Raquel attempts to kiss me. I grab her shoulders and spin her around, denying her outright.

“This is what happens when you try to make me jealous,” I mutter in her ear.

Raquel arches her back, deliberately trying to grind her ass against the front of my pants. “Is that what this is?” she asks, voice tight and already breathing hard.

“I’ve had it up to here with you and your relentless teasing. It’s time you get a taste of your own medicine.”

Raquel giggles, tilting her head back to rest against my chest. “I like it when you’re a little mean.”

“You haven’t seen anything yet.” I release her and give her the lightest of nudges towards the bed. “Be a good little bird and lie down for me.” She only makes it one step forward before I correct her. “No. I want you to crawl.”

Her breath hitches. I half expect her to protest. Wonder of wonders, Raquel obliges me, lowering herself to the hotel room floor to get on all fours. I remain behind her, watching her move slowly toward the bed. The view of her ass in the air and the dip of her back is mesmerizing, her lovely hair falling seductively over her face. She climbs onto the bed and lies down on her back just as I asked.

“Now what?” she says, sounding a bit impatient.

“Strip,” I order with a smirk.
