“Good.” The truth was, he wanted to stay in her apartment and fuck her every single way he could think of. He wanted to taste her mouth and pussy, maybe even tease her asshole a little bit. There was so much he wanted to do and explore with his woman, but instead, he was more than happy to head out with her. It was odd.

TheBogeyman enjoyed spending time with her.

Callie didn’t know if this was supposed to be a date or not.It felt like a date. She hadn’t been to a fair since one came to her old town. Her parents had pictures, which she now stored in her small supply closet. After her parents died, she had no choice but to go through all their things, donate what wasn’t good, and keep items that had sentimental value. To her, pictures were memories and they couldn’t be tossed away.

Standing beside Ruin, she was very much aware of the glances they were getting. He stood out in a crowd, but then, being rather tall, and she had to admit sexy, no wonder he was constantly admired. They had entered the fair ten minutes ago, and even though it was daylight, it was still busy. Families wandered around together. Children full of sugar and excitement screamed or yelled and ran around. It was amazing. She was so young the last time she came, she didn’t have many clear memories.

“Do you come to thefair often?” she asked. Callie didn’t have the first clue what to say to Ruin.

“No.”

“Oh.”

“You?”

“No.”

This had to be high up on the list of bad dates, if this was a date. She wasn’t entirely sure what to label today. She had started to feel like she was having a really bad dream, the kind that was impossible to wake up from. You should have stayed back in your apartment and gotten rid of that pesky v-card.

Ruin being so close, removing her shirt and bra, she almost panicked. Having sex was a big deal. At least it was for her, and yes, she’d been into it. There was no denying how wet she was and how aroused he’d made her. She was on fire for him. Which was why she had to stop, to take a step back. She didn’t know who the hell Ruin was. She didn’t even know his last name. It was crazy.

“Here we go,” he said.

They stood in line for one of the rides. Callie looked up and saw a bunch of people strapped into what looked like a long seat, and they were being takenup into the air and flung around as it rotated. At the top, they stopped and seemed to teeter on the edge as if they were about to fall. It looked scary and her heart raced looking at it, but she wasn’t about to tell Ruin that. The queue wasn’t too long and they made it through quite quickly. Ruin paid the money at the desk, they walked up the large plank, and there was a guy waiting. She sat in the chair, and he made sure she was strapped inside. Her heart now pounded inside her chest as she tried not to think about what was going to occur. Everything would be fine.

Theride was full and she saw the queue of people were already there. Most of the rides had lots of people waiting. The machine seemed to vibrate as it started up.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’mfine. Totally fine.” She breathed in and out, and then, sheer panic took over as they started to move.

At one point, she had no choice but to close her eyes because she had this pesky little problem of being afraid of heights, but she had no intention of telling Ruin. She tried to contain her screams, but it didn’t work. She started to scream as the ride went wild, moving around and around. At one point, she was sure she was going to be sick. Callie opened her eyes as Ruin grabbed her hand. He locked their fingers together tightly and in doing so, the fear melted away.

“I’ve got you, Callie.”

He did.

She focused on him and the ride. She hated being flung around, but there was a part of her that was a little exhilarated and terrified. Not because of the ride itself, but because of Ruin. It had been nine years since she had anyone close to caring. Nine long, lonely years. It was scary as hell because he was a stranger, and yet he didn’t feel like one.

There were so many questions running through her mind, and she didn’t know which one was the most important. At the same time, she couldn’t help but feel like they didn’t matter. All that mattered was this moment. For the first time in her life, she felt close to someone. This was what her mother constantly talked about, that she had promised her would happen. There would eventually be one person she’d feel close to losing her mind over, and the truth was, she felt that around Ruin. He made her forget all her troubles. They faded into the background. Yes, she’d panicked at how fast they were getting naked together, but there had also been an edge of excitement.

She wanted him.

Was it wrong that at the age oftwenty-nine, she finally wanted to rid herself of her virginity?

The ride slowly came to an end, and shenoticed the man who’d been looking over made the walk down and pressed on the clip that would set them free. Her heart raced and her stomach turned like crazy. She had to get out of here, which she did the moment she was free. She didn’t wait for Ruin to join her. Within seconds she was around the back of the ride, bending over and throwing up. She tried to hold her hair back as she did this. Ruin grabbed her hair and rubbed her back. She knew it was him because of his shoes.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, yeah, just have a problem with heights. Don’t worry about it.” She closed her eyes and took several deep breaths. She’d always been afraid of heights.

“Shit, I’m sorry.”

“Don’t worry,” she said, repeating herself.“I enjoyed it.”

“Don’t lie to me,Callie.”
