One picture and he had felt his whole fucking world stand still. She was just a woman—a dead woman according to Dante. But she had spoken to him. She had known pain. Callie had been … dying, a little piece of her fading away each day. He had watched her, had seen that she didn’t smile. People ignored her. No one cared. But he did care. He wanted her to live.

“You like pizza?” he asked.

“Who doesn’t like pizza?” She chuckled. “This is really good. I hate the ones that have no taste, when it’s just pizza base and grease.” She wrinkled her nose. “My mom used to make a great one. She’d cook up some ground beef, add lots of spices to it. She’d use pepperoni and three different types of cheese. That was so good.”

“Do you miss your mom?” he asked.

“Yeah, Imiss her. I miss both of my parents. They were so in love with each other.” She dropped the pizza down and her shoulders slumped.

“Tell me about them.”

Callie sighed. “There’s not much to … well, they were high school sweethearts. At least that’s what they told me. Mom got pregnant with me straight out of high school. Dad worked like crazy to try to support us.” She wrinkled her nose. “I think it was at some kind of factory or something. We lived in a small town for a long time, and then when the work dried up, we moved here. I think they hated it, but because they had each other, they made the most of it, you know. I don’t want to talk about it. They’ve been gone nine years, so I guess it’s been nine years since I had pizza.”

“Nine years?” he asked.

“Yeah. Mom made me pizza on my birthday, nine years ago. I’m thirty in three weeks,” Callie said.

“I had no idea.” He knew when her birthday was. “You didn’t make pizza?”

She shook her head. “I know how to, but nothing tastes better than your mother’s cooking.”

“Tellme about yourself, Callie,” he said.

She frownedand finished her slice of pizza. They were both naked, with a few blankets and pillows wrapped around them on her living room floor.

“Don’t you think you know enough?”

“Nah, there’s never enough when it comes to you.”

“You’re a smooth talker, Ruin.” She sighed. “You’re the one who’s taken my virginity. Tell me about yourself.”

“I will.” He moved the box of pizza out of the way. “What have I told you about being far away fromme?” He pulled her in close, and then changed her so that she straddled him.

He’d done nothing but fuck her and he still wanted her. That feeling was never going away.

“I wasn’t too far and we were eating pizza,” she said.

“Not good enough. I’ve told you, you’re to be by my side always, no excuses.”

She giggled. “You’re insatiable.”

“For you and you alone.”

She wrapped her legs around his waist.

“Do you like being an analyst?” he asked. “Putting data into a computer?”

“It pays thebills.”

“How long have you worked there?”

He trailed his lips toward her breasts, cupping them together. He loved her large tits. All he wanted to do was press his face against each mound.

A moan escaped her lips.

“No, I … I lost my last job.”

Ruindidn’t pause. “You lost it. I don’t know how that’s possible.” He bit down on her nipple and she cried out. The sound filled the air, and his cock hardened even more. She had sensitive tits. He slid his tongue across each peak, and then used his teeth.
