"I don't believe this! You are disgusting!" She shouted and got up, grabbing her gown she walked away from his bed, naked.
A couple of men saw her and whistled lowly.
Joe laid there wondering what the hell happened to her.
Snow Bird raised up a bit and saw her walking back across the room. The fact that she didn't have a stitch of clothing on made Snow Bird turn away.
Joe had taken her once, and was primed for another romp, and she just got up and left. What was wrong with her, he knew she was hot. He was tempted to go after her, but when he saw she slept with another man, he fumed under his covers. He'd get even with her if it was the last thing he did.
The next day Rose ignored him. She stayed as far away as she could from him.
Joe scowled all day and Tal and the others noticed.
"I'll get even with her," he promised, wiping his chin where his coffee had spilled.
Tal saw that something had gone awry, but from the frown on his face it wasn't the time to talk to him.
Instead he went to talk to Matt.
"That youngster over there, is gonna cause some trouble. I don't know what, but I can tell he's headed for it."
"Oh," Matt eyed Joe Banks. "What's wrong?"
"I don't rightly know, but whatever it is, something is wrong and knowing him like I do, he's gonna even the score somehow."
"With who?" Matt asked innocently.
"With her!" He pointed to Rose.
Matt's brows shot up.
Matt shook his head, "Not much I can do about it. That's between them."
"He hates your woman, you keep an eye out for him."
"Thanks, I will." Matt nodded, then went to take Snow Bird a cup of the coffee.
Snow Bird took the coffee then looked at him as he sat next to her on the floor. "What did that man, Tal, want?"
"To tell me something's in the wind with that kid, Joe Banks. And to warn me to watch out for you." Matt told her.
"Me?"
"Yeah, not sure what is up."
"I am. She was going to sleep with him, but something happened last night, and she left him." Snow Bird informed him.
"Who?"
"Rose."
"How do you know?"
"I saw her get up, naked and walk away from him." She told him.
"Naked?
"Yes…"
