"What did she look like?" Hannah asked with interest.

"She had brownish red hair that glistened in the sun, and very blue eyes. She was small and delicate… "

"She must have been very beautiful."

"Yes, she was… so much so my father could hardly keep his eyes from her."

Hannah smiled, "And he fell in love with her beauty?"

"No, she was quite clumsy, and fell down so much, it was one day when the other women were laughing, he reached down to help her up and she smiled at him. That's all it took, one smile."

"He will be with her again soon," Hannah stared at him.

"Yes, he will, and it will be a great reunion." Lone Wolf smiled now.

Days later his father called him in to speak with him, "Yes father?"

"You will marry Hannah soon?"

"Yes father…"

"It is good my son, she is more Arapaho than white now. She has made me many presents. She has a giving heart, and the people love her."

"Yes, she loves you like a father, you see, her folks… never showed her love." Lone Wolf smiled.

"She will give you a son." Gray Eye predicted. "I have seen it in a vision."

Lone Wolf smiled sadly, wondering if they would have a child. But the fact that his father spoke this encouraged Lone Wolf to believe it so. Especially since he had a vision.

"Yes father, you have spoken it." Lone Wolf smiled.

"He will be a good son and follow our footsteps in peace."

"I will teach him this, yes." Lone Wolf agreed.

"It is good my son. I can die happy now, knowing it will happen for you. Keep the peace and do good for our people. We must make laws for our people to follow so that the white man's law does not interfere." He stopped and coughed very hard. Lone Wolf came closer. "You must make a council of the elders to make these laws, and you will enforce them. We will show the white man that our laws are good, that are people are good also."

"I will see it is done."

"You have made me proud as a father. When I die, I will join your mother and the Creator. I will be happy and at peace."

"I wish my father to live a long life. For Hannah and I will miss you greatly."

"The Creator determines that my son. Be at peace, for I have lived a long and very happy life. We are a good people, we must always be."

"Yes, I agree."

"Your vision was good my son, I am proud you make Hannah your bride."

"Thank you, father."

"You were wise to seek the vision, for it was true."

After his long talk, Lone Wolf felt better, and he gathered the elders of the tribe together. "My father is very sick, he will not get

well. We have spoken, and he wants me to elect a council to govern our people with our own laws now. So, I gather you together to discuss this and to discuss the many laws that must be made."

The elders nodded, "He is wise."
