When he finally raised his head, his eyes were gleaming like stars.

"Yes," he cleared his throat. "I see the difference."

"Why is it so different?" she whispered as her arms were still around his neck. "I do not understand this. When he kissed Naomie, it was like the way you kiss me."

Black Wolf lowered his head, a smile on his lips. "When a man kisses with is heart, it is different, Sasha. A man can kiss a woman in many ways. Did he kiss you often?"

"No, I guess that sounds strange too," she lay there thinking about it. "Doesn't it. I never really thought about it much before. We were friends long before there was anything more."

"He did not love you Sasha. And why I cannot understand."

"I can understand it. Naomie is… very beautiful. She is built differently."

He grinned, "More round in places?" he asked.

"Yes, and most of the warriors want her. But she has eyes only for Big Knife."

"And he obviously has eyes for her."

"Yes," she hung her head.

"Most all women are shaped differently, but that does not matter when a man is in love. Every man sees through his own eyes, not the eyes of others. Especially if he loves."

"Then what matters to a man?"

He reached and touched her chest, "It is what is inside here that matters to me." He touched her heart. "All women have a beauty of sorts. But if the heart is not beautiful too, her outside beauty loses its appeal in time."

"How can you say that?" she asked so innocently. "Every man wanted Naomie."

"No, every man wants Naomie's body. A man that loves a woman wants to please her in every way, and a kiss is the beginnings of making love. The deeper the love the better the kiss."

She looked puzzled. "I thought that was lust."

He pulled back to stare at her. "Lust is love of the body. And forgive me, but it sounds as though Big Knife and Naomie share that lust. The love I seek is deeper, it comes from the heart. Like I love your honesty." He smiled. "Your confession last night touched me more than you can ever know."

"My confession?"

"Being honest with each other is valuable in a relationship. And honesty leads to trust and trust to love."

"But does honesty warm your bed?" she challenged.

He grinned. "Not exactly, but it is the beginnings of trust. You told me you left and came back. That is the beginnings of love. You did not have to tell me, but you did. You had no idea how I'd react, but you told me. It is a sign also of bravery and trust."

"I don't fear you!" she told him.

He smiled again, "I am glad."

"You have been kind, and gentle and thoughtful, it is easy to begin to trust when a person is that way."

"Yes, but with you I do not want to be any other way. And when you get to know me, perhaps you will feel the same. You must have time to get over Big Knife and his betrayal. But I must tell you, I am glad you did not marry this man, as he didn't love you. You see, in a way we are alike. Most of the women here like me, and would be my wife, but they like the fact that I'm a Chief. They would not be honest as they would never want to hurt me. Big Knife did not take you, which is a good thing, he liked you, but he did not love you."

"I realize that now." She said lowly. "It was I that made the mistake."

"Not exactly a mistake. And I'm glad you see it differently for yourself, not because I say so. It is good you caught them, as no one had to tell you how they felt, you could see it for yourself. Good, that is a step toward getting over him and learning."

"I feel betrayal more than anything. Especially when he ask me to wed him. And I never expected that from Naomie."

"Yes, I can understand that."
