“Yeah, dipshit, and Conrad and Emree are still on thin ice,” Levi answers.

Maddox brings his attention to Blaire, who has shifted just slightly away from me. “Dear Blaire, Chloe is what you would call a slut, and I know, I know, that is not a politically correct term, and I am a fellow feminist, but she is. That girl has slept her way through the soccer team since her freshman year, and I swear she is trying to trap one of us or something. It isn’t even like she likes us, just wants us for our dicks and status.”

Blaire’s nose scrunches up in disgust. “So have you all…slept with her?” She is avoiding looking at me, but I know who the question is mainly directed at.

“Hell no,” Levi answers. His love life is a mystery to us since I have never seen him bring a girl home, so that answer doesn’t really shock me.

Mateo rubs the back of his neck. “Um, yeah. Freshman year. I was too horny to know I was being used. She slept with my roommate the week after.”

She looks at Maddox, who has a sheepish smile.

“Well, yes. A few times. It’s an easy lay and I will not be ashamed for being a man with needs.”

I can’t help but roll my eyes because it’s the dumbest excuse. He wanted a relationship with Chloe last year because he said she was the wildest sex he had ever had, but when he found out she was also sleeping with…well, everyone else, he wanted none of that anymore.

Ever so slowly, Blaire turns to me. Her beautiful gray eyes are filled with worry, and I hate myself for my past sex life, knowing it could hurt her. “No, Gray Eyes. I’ve never slept with her. Not that she hasn’t tried, but I didn’t want to be another checked off guy from her list.”

Relief washes over her face. “Well, that’s good, I guess. Sounds like she just wants to use you guys.”

“Ah, and use us she does. All night, in fact,” Maddox says with a dreamy look on his face, I’m sure thinking back to one of the nights with Chloe.

Deciding we need a subject change, I go back to Blaire’s offer. “Anyway, man, you should really take her up about helping with that class. She picked out a good book for me and I’m already almost done with the assignment.”

She smiles proudly. “See, I told you it wouldn’t be so bad.”

“I may have to take you up on that, sweetheart. Getting booted from the team would pretty much leave me homeless since I live in the athletic department’s house and all.” We all laugh, but in reality, he’s right.

Together, we finish off four pizzas. Conrad and Emree come back inside after a while, and her hair looks like someone was running their fingers through it. Looks like they made up, although you can still sense some tension between them.

Blaire decides not to stay the night, much to my objection, since she has to work tomorrow, and I have a game a few hours away. I’m bummed she can’t come to it, but my mom and sister promised to be in the stands, cheering me on.

After a mini make-out session by her car, she tells me she really has to go, and I reluctantly let her. It is getting harder and harder having this beautiful woman walk away from me, and I wonder if it’ll always be like this. I feel like I can never get enough of her.

BLAIRE

Only an hour into my shift and work is already dragging on. It’s Halloween and Garrett encouraged us to wear costumes. Deciding not to wear the one I had planned for Camden’s party, I’m wearing a simple pair of black leggings, a black T-shirt, and I bought a headband that looks like cat ears. Emree did my makeup to look like I have a cat nose and whiskers. She decided to dress up and is wearing a short Tinkerbelle dress with wings and a pair of green heels. Her blond hair is held up perfectly to look just like that character. When we walked into Whiskey Joe’s for our shift, Garrett shook his head at us. I can’t help but notice how good he looks in his Thor costume and I guess he has heard us saying how much we think he looks like the actor he went with it. He even tied his long, blond hair back into a half up, half down manbun.

There are more people here than a usual Saturday night, and while the crowd is making me slightly nervous, I can’t help but look at the open floor that used to be a long, dark hallway that led to the bathrooms. On top of the new renovation, Garrett also suggested to the owner that he hire someone for security on the weekends. Not only for the staff but any guests too. Silas has done a good job of making sure that no female staff walks to their car alone after a shift and keeps an eye on all areas inside and outside of the bar. We have all appreciated the care these guys have given after what happened to me last month.

Although I love my job and the people I work with, I wish I weren’t here tonight. Missing Camden’s game had bummed me out, but knowing he is drinking and having fun at his party is stressing me out. It’s the first big party they have thrown at their house since before classes started, and while I don’t particularly want to be there, I’m worried about the girls Maddox mentioned the other day. Especially this Chloe chick, who seems to have Camden in her line of sight.

I never thought I would be the jealous type, but hearing how girls throw themselves at these guys and thinking about how many Camden has slept with makes me upset. I can’t be mad at him for what he did before we were together, but it doesn’t stop my head from going there.

“Blaire, your drinks are ready,” Garrett yells out, breaking me from my thoughts. I fill up my tray with a variety of mixed drinks a table of college girls ordered.

As I approach the table, all the girls start clapping and get excited about their drinks. I can’t help but smile with them because they all look adorable in their matching cowgirl costumes, each sporting a bright pink hat.

A few of the bars in town are participating in a Halloween bar hop and Garrett decided it would be good for business to join in. Each group that comes to the bars gets a round of shots on the house and a picture taken. At the end of the night, a winner will be chosen for best costumes and wins a one-hundred-dollar gift card to each bar. So far, with the turnout we have had, I would say it’s working.

There are a few groups on the dance floor, but every table in here is full. I’m used to it being busy on the weekends, with us being a popular college bar, but with the number of bodies here tonight, I’m worried we’re going to exceed the max capacity for our building.

It’s almost nine and I’m grateful to Garrett for giving Emree and me the early shift tonight because I don’t think I could handle much more of this. The bar hop started at six and as the hours passed, each group coming in was sloppier and sloppier with the amount of alcohol they had consumed.

Three of our coworkers walk through the front door, looking great in their sexy nurse, Batman, and Red Riding Hood costumes. They all look around the place with wide eyes before they disappear to the employee area.

Emree skips over to me with a wide smile on her face. “It’s party tiiimmmeeee,” she sings.
