“The confidence is still there, and it looks good on you. Don’t hide it because some trolls on the internet think you should. It would be a crime to listen to them.”

“It’s so hard not to. You know that saying, someone calls you a duck and you’re not a duck, two people call you duck and you’re not a duck, but three people call you a duck and maybe you are a duck.”

“I just kissed every inch of your body, and though I think you’d make an adorable duck, I can one hundred percent confirm you are not a duck.”

She swatted his chest. “You know what I mean.”

“I know.” He took her hand and kissed her knuckles. “How about we stop stalling and show our pictures?”

“I’m not stalling. I have nothing to hide. They’re on the internet for anyone to find. I thinkyouare stalling, so come on. Show me the goods.”

He grabbed his phone, his finger scrolling his gallery. He stopped and tapped the screen, turning the phone to her. She gasped and snatched it out of his hand. “That’s you?”

“It is.”

“Wow. Viggo Mortensen, eat your heart out! Is that why you keep the hair long? I mean, with the blue eyes, you’re a dead ringer.”

“You know who I am?”

“Of course, who doesn’t know who Aragorn is?”

“Too many people to count.” He’d showed pictures to other women before, and they all smiled and said you’re hot, but didn’t have a clue who he was supposed to be.

“I might not read fantasy, but I love fantasy films almost as much as I love horror.”

Garrett sat up, and Harley let out a squeak as he wrapped her legs around his back. “What’s your favorite horror movie?”

She tapped her chin. “Hmm, it’s a toss-up.”

“Go on.”

“Night of the Living Dead.”

“A classic.”

“Absolutely. Not the first zombie movie ever made, but universally acknowledged as the first. And then… don’t laugh.”

“I won’t.”

“Promise?”

He held his hands up in between them. “I promise.”

“Scream 3.” He smiled, and she smacked his chest. “You told me you weren’t going to laugh.”

“I’m not laughing. It’s one of my favorite movies.”

“Now you’re just messing with me.” She shifted to get off his lap, and he planted his hands on her waist, holding her in place.

“I’m not.” His eyes zeroed in on her, the blue bright and memorizing. “Okay, maybe a little. But Scream is definitely hands down top five. It’s basically a love letter to all the horror movies that came before it.”

“Exactly! It pays homage to the greats before it, but is also scary as hell.”

“And funny. It was a great combo.”

“Agreed.”

“So why the third?”
