Lennox smirked unrepentantly. “Long story.”

“A safe word?” she asked, her voice sounding shaky to her own ears.

“You say that word, whatever’s happening stops,” Lennox said. “No consequences. It’s the kill switch. Keeps everyone safe. We can all use it.”

She looked back to Auden. “Why notno?”

His hand slid from her hair, and he cupped her chin to tip her face toward him. “Because sometimes it’s fun to protest. To fight back.” He leaned down and put his lips next to her ear. “To make me force the issue. To say no and have me do it anyway.”

She shivered, but she couldn’t tell if it was fear or rampant, aching curiosity.

He straightened and kept his focus fully on her. She had no idea what he was seeing, but she could sense she was being read like an open book. “Tell me your safe word.”

She was trembling. “Water.”

“And what happens if you say it?” Lennox asked.

“Everything stops.”

“So I guess the question is”—Auden’s throat worked—“are you thirsty?”

CHAPTEREIGHTEEN

O’Neal didn’t know much about this world Auden and Lennox were describing, but she did know what Auden was asking her. He was giving her a ticket out. If she saidyes, I need water,he would back off. They would return to watching the movie. She knew in her gut that he would honor the safe word.

O’Neal also knew, without a doubt, that she was way out of her depth and in over her head. She had no idea what they would expect from her. They lived in a world with kinky, experienced women apparently. She was not that. She would probably mess this up, do something wrong. She didn’t even know if she’d enjoy it.

But the sensations in her body, the buzzy feelings that were moving through her, were more powerful right now than logic. She’d peeked behind theMembers Onlydoor and wanted to know what things were like on the other side. She didn’t want to run scared from the unknown. She wanted toknowand then decide. Evidence-based decision-making, not theory.

She boldly held Auden’s gaze, drumming up every ounce of her courage. “I’m not thirsty.”

His gaze traced down over her, an obvious hunger there, but wariness remained in his voice. “I need you to be sure. I know you like to skip the intro classes and jump to the advanced ones, but this isn’t calculus.”

“I know. I’m sure.” She pulled her shoulders back a little, made a point to look at Lennox and then back to Auden, and then grabbed onto a thread of gumption. “I trust you. Both of you. And I…want to understand why the thought of you being in control makes me feel…tingly all over.”

Auden closed his eyes, inhaled. Then, just when she thought he was going to back out on her, he opened his eyes and pointed to the floor. “Get on your knees, freshman.”

She startled slightly at the sharpness in his tone, and she was frozen for a moment.

He lifted a brow—a smug, entitled expression that somehow made her shiver. “Don’t make me wait. It wasn’t a request.”

Her first instinct was to tell him off, but this was the game. He was going to show her what he liked. For better or worse, they were going to try this. She took a deep breath and moved from the couch to her knees, the carpet coarse against her skin.

Auden reached over and flicked on a second lamp. “I don’t want to do this in the shadows. I want to see your face when I teach you how to suck my cock.”

She automatically winced at the words, the knee-jerk reaction too fast to pull back.

He hesitated. She caught it, but he quickly covered it, smoothing his expression. “Or maybe not just mine. You’ve never done it before. You probably should practice sucking Len first. Get your technique right before I grant you the privilege of having mine.”

She’d be crap at poker. Any chance she had at hiding her shock had been an illusion. She’d grown up in a world where no one cursed, much less talked like this. These words had been sinful, forbidden, punishable in their world. Hearing Auden—the boy she could still picture in his prep school jacket and tie—say such things probably should’ve made her want to hightail it out of there. Instead some unfamiliar sensation—fear mixed up with anticipation—was braiding through her. It was making her breath come quicker and her skin very, very sensitive.

Auden was evaluating her, watching her every reaction. He crossed his arms, looming over her, his erection a prominent outline in his jeans. “Take off your top and bra, freshman.”

She snuck a peek at Len. There was humor in his eyes, as usual, but a new heat was there as well. He gave her awell, we’re waitinglook.

Okay. She could do this. She’d kissed Len. She’d been touched in front of him. She could let him see her. She reached for the hem of her T-shirt and pulled it over her head. After she tossed it onto the couch, she reached behind her back and unhooked her bra. She slipped it down and off. Her arms automatically crossed over her chest.

“No, you don’t,” Auden said, voice a little thicker. He reached down, circled her wrists with his fingers, and lowered her arms to her sides. “No hiding from us.” He traced a fingertip around her nipple, making her sensitive flesh tighten in the cool air. “Let us see those pretty tits of yours. Let Len see how responsive you are.”
