“You’re drenched, beautiful. I can’t wait to taste you. Then when I have, I’m gonna slide inside you and make you scream. Cole and I are gonna fuck you boneless tonight, baby.”

Her pussy clenched, trying to hold his fingers in place, but Bryce was teasing her, only adding a third finger when she whimpered in frustration. He took pity on her, giving her what she so desperately needed. He pumped inside her, filling her pussy with his deft fingers and grinding his thick cock against her arse. She began the steady climb as he played her body like an instrument.

“Look up, beautiful. See those offices across the road? They want to be me right now, sinking into your tight pussy. They want you like we do. But you’re ours, aren’t you?” He popped the button on her shirt and slid his hand inside her bra, pinching her nipple. With his other hand, he flicked her clit and jammed his fingers inside her.

Ava arched against him, trembling as her orgasm swept through her, obliterating every thought. Her being narrowed down to the points on her body he was touching, his warmth adding fire to the heat burning through her. Ava bit her hand to stifle the scream she wanted to let loose as he upped the pressure against her clit. Her body responded, her orgasm reigniting and firing through her again.

Three orgasms later, Bryce finally withdrew his fingers from her still-twitching core. With a wicked glint in his eyes, he licked them clean, humming. Ava’s pussy clenched again at the sight. On jelly legs, she would have collapsed to the floor—a good thing so she could get a taste of him—but Bryce stopped her. He lifted her onto the desk and adjusted himself, placing the open box in front of her with his now-clean hand.

“I’m saving this for later,” he murmured against her lips, his hand gripping his cock until his bulge wasn’t so prominent. He kissed her, lazy swipes of his tongue as he shared her arousal.

Lightheaded and trembling, Ava huffed out an exhausted laugh and resisted the temptation to lie down, spread her legs and demand that he slide into her now.

“Right now, you need to check out what I made for you.”

She lifted the tissue paper. Her eyes widened, her mouth popping open. The detail was magnificent. A single red origami rose lay on another bed of white tissue paper. Its stem was decorated with a delicately folded leaf and another bud. Bryce must have spent hours—hell, days—getting it perfect. She touched her fingertips to the rose, making sure it was real and not a hallucination.

Bryce nuzzled her throat, his nose nudging her hair as he murmured, “Do you like it?”

“Bryce, it’s beautiful. I love it.” Her voice was barely a whisper. “Thank you.”

“Sorry I couldn’t get you anything expensive.” He sighed, his voice an annoyed rumble. “I’m so sick of being broke.”

“Hush.” She nudged him. “This is… everything. I’ve never received anything this beautiful before.”

Bryce’s eyes brightened and a shy smile lit up his face.

Ava leaned into him, kissing him again. It was as if she was an overfull well, emotion spilling over and pouring out as she tried to show him just how much his handmade present meant. “Bryce, it’s perfect.”

He gently cupped her face and whispered against her lips, “Happy birthday, Ava.” He pressed a lingering kiss to her mouth, and Ava smiled, her heart fluttering at how damn sweet he was. “Ireallyneed to go.”

“I’ll walk you out.” It was easier said than done. Ava’s legs were wobbly, and she walked like a newborn foal, happy hormones coursing through her bloodstream.

With Bryce’s hand on the small of her back, she led him back through the narrow hallway and past the bullpen where most of the staff sat. Their eyes followed her, most of them with grins on their faces when Ava shot them a self-satisfied smirk. They may not know what she’d just gotten up to, but the ladies there could appreciate a beautiful man when they saw one, and Bryce was gorgeous.

Pushing through the door to reception, she waved and smiled like a lovesick fool as Bryce flashed an adoring grin and walked backward out of the front doors.

Ava was on cloud nine as she floated to John’s office. She knocked, politely waiting for him to invite her in. “Did you want to see me?”

“I didn’t, then I heard you shriek, and I freaked out. I thought something had happened.” John motioned for her to close the door and sit down. “But I’ve just gotten off the phone with the directors. They want a few reports to be prepared this afternoon. I know you’re working on one of them, but I also need an updated program for your project. I’m speaking with accounts about getting the updated cash flow too.”

“Are they shutting it down?” she asked, her high from a moment earlier crashing. Ava slumped in the chair opposite his and furrowed her brow. What would it mean for her job if they shut down her only project?

He smiled reassuringly and the vice around Ava’s chest loosened. “No, they’re looking at every project we have on as well as retail’s projects. I’d say it’s just planning for this quarter and beyond. They do it every now and then.”

“Okay, I should get onto it then.” Ava motioned over her shoulder and John nodded.

“That’d be great. Thank you.” Ava exited the office but just as she was about to close his door, he called out again. “Was that a birthday present Bryce was bringing you?”

“Yeah.” She flushed, her love-struck love-heart-eyes smile firmly back in place.

“Well then, happy birthday. Make sure you take off early today. Get those reports done and get out of here.”

Ava thanked him and walking on air again, she dashed to her office to get started.

Ava poured herself into her work, prioritizing the reports John had requested. One of the main things she’d learnt from him was that it was better to be a little generous with time, than to underestimate. Jason, the former project manager for her townhouse complex, had done the opposite. Every deadline had been missed, some by days, others by weeks. When she calculated the daily interest the company was paying on their loans for the site, her mind boggled.

The updated program finished, she emailed it off to John and rubbed her temples. The cash flow reports were being looked after, and she’d mostly finished reviewing the budget, adding in the cost overruns as well as the updated quotes. Materials prices had skyrocketed, and it was affecting every aspect of the build price. Most subcontractors had held their labour rates steady, despite paying their employees and contractors more, but the budget was months out of date.
