Following his thickly accented voice, I turn back. Before I can answer, Chelsea jumps in.

“This is Addie. She’s Titan’s fiancée.”

His jaw hardens from the mention of her brother’s name. He squints at me, determining if I’m a threat or not.

I don’t have to judge. I’ve already decided.

He’s an enemy.

“They’re getting married.”

The dreamy tone steals his attention from me back to her. His expression softens as he looks down, cupping her cheeks. “This is what you want too, yes? To marry me?”

“Yes.”

Her breathless whisper is more than enough. He scoops her up into a huge bear hug with her feet dangling off the floor. More exclamations are uttered into her ear that I don’t understand. They remain entranced in their own world until another knock raps from the hallway.

Maxim sighs before setting her on her heels and kissing her forehead. “I have to work. But I will come find you later.” He jerks his head toward me. “Go. Have fun.”

Sweet innocent Chelsea looks up at him, unaware the danger we’re in. “Well, a club has to have its DJ, doesn’t it?”

‘Yes, that’s right little butterfly. I have to do my DJ.”

DJ my ass. She giggles from him butchering the language. But I know the error is intentional. He plays harmless when it suits him for her.

With his hand on her lower back, he motions for me to go first and escorts us to the door. His face instantly changes when his men come into view. An authoritarian expression I recognize too well.

We’re watched the entire way to a table where her friends sit, drinking and talking with other partiers in a roped off area. Whitney and two of the guys swallow down small pills with their champagne. I ignore them and focus on Chelsea, grabbing the bottle from her hand before she pours the liquid into her glass. “How did you meet Maxim?”

She blows out a long sigh, almost melting into a trance. “Isn’t he incredible? I was dancing and felt someone watching me. The sensation was just so intense. I looked up, and there he was, staring right at me from behind a window. That’s how I knew he was a DJ. When he was on his break, he came and got me at our booth and took me to the lounge, you know where we just were. Now every time I come here, we hang out.”

I smile trying to hide my real thoughts. “Yes, that’s amazing.”

“I know.”

The wistful tone resumes, and I return the prosecco to her, not arguing when she fills up both our flutes. I have no idea how to get either of us out of this mess.

Titan

I stare at the corpse crumpled in front of me.

Loath to appear weak in front of my men, I let Z and Ronnie do the dirty work of torturing and killing Greyson. But I think they know the truth. This was all revenge. No one threatens my woman.

He was going to die anyway attempting to partner with her dumb ass quasi stepbrother to start a war with me. Which he could never launch, let alone finish. But when her name crossed his lips, I couldn’t hold back from siccing the beasts on him. Watching him suffer was worth delaying my date with Addie. Now I can give her the night she deserves. Hell, the life she deserves.

“Boss?”

Jace’s tone tells me all I need to know. Chelsea’s caused a problem. Again.

My head instantly starts throbbing. If she ruins my evening with Addie, I’m going to have to rein her in for real this time. I can’t let her destroy my relationship with my girl. “What?”

“They…they went out.”

They. Notshe. God damn it. He better not mean…

“Chelsea and Miss Scott…together…to Deja Vu.”

Motherfucker. “How the fuck did that happen?”
