“What if we’d rather just leave now, in the ship we came here in?” Sev asked, his deep voice reassuringly steady. He was saying he wanted the mission to be over, Mia realized. He was pulling the plug. For once, she agreed with him. Maybe it was time to get out of here. Maybe enough was enough. Maybe—
“I’m sorry, but now that you’ve undergone the Induction Ceremony, you no longer have an option to leave,” the Elder informed them. “Also, your ship is now the property of the PPP.”
“What?” Sev roared, his eyes flashing. “What the fuck are you talking about? I never agreed to that!”
“Be calm, Brother Severith,” Brother Jonash called hastily. “You’ll be allowed to use your ship again once you and your wife prove you’re proper members of the PPP and go through a Binding Ceremony performed by the Prophet himself. Until then, we ask that you confine yourself to the Dome and make an effort to learn our ways.”
“And how long willthattake?” Sev demanded.
“As soon as we see you and your wife demonstrating proper behavior, we’ll schedule your Binding,” Brother Jonash assured him. “But youmustbe seen to be making an honest effort—not just going through the motions.”
“Speaking of which, we still have to get through the second half of the training before this Judgment Session can be adjourned,” another Elder remarked. “We need to hurry and finish—I have another meeting soon.”
“Wait—there’smoretraining?” Sev exclaimed.
“Yes, but this next Instructional vid is a short one,” the Elder assured him. “It simply shows you how to properly apply your wife’s chastity devices.”
“Herwhat?”Sev demanded. Mia wanted to ask the same thing, but she kept her jaw grimly closed. Things were already bad enough without her speaking up and making them worse! But the next thing the Elder said nearly made her speak up, despite her determination not to.
“Her chastity devices—all the women in the PPP Dome wear them,” the Elder assured him. “They help keep a wife in line and keep her from stealing orgasms. Only a husband may put them on her and only he is able to take them off because they are keyed exclusively to his DNA.”
“But—” Sev began.
“Look, Ireallymust get to my other meeting,” the other Elders who had complained before said. “Do we have to watch this now? Why don’t we beam the Informational vid to their domicile tonight—that way they can watch it together with the devices in hand and then Brother Severith can apply them.”
“I agree,” another Elder said.
“All right—we’ll vote on it,” the deep-voiced Elder said. “In favor?” There was a general chorus of “Ayes.” “Opposed?” There was a single “Nay” which came from Brother Jonash. However, he was overruled so the meeting appeared to be over, much to Mia’s relief. She didn’t know what in the world the “Chastity Devices” might be, but she felt like she’d had enough of the Elders’ ‘judgment’ to last her a lifetime!
“This concludes this Judgment Session,” the deep-voiced Elder said. “Thank you for attending and welcome to the PPP. We hope to see you back here at the Inner Sanctum soon for your Binding Ceremony.”
The Elders began rising and filing out of the small theater, leaving Sev and Mia to stand there on the stage. At last, no one else was left but Brother Jonash.
“Come on, you two,” he called in a cheerful voice. “That wasn’t so bad now, was it? I assure you, I’ve seen Judgment Sessions that weremuchmore harsh. You really got off easy!”
“Yeah, right,” Sev muttered under his breath.
Mia, however, said nothing—she just looked up at her partner with wide eyes. Were they really going to have to practice the Commands they had been shown tonight? And if so, how far were they going to have to go?
“Don’t look at me like that, okay?” Sev told her. He ran a hand over his horns distractedly. “We’ll figure a way out of this mess…somehow.”
Though he didn’t look like he had any idea how. For that matter, neither did Mia.
“Come on,” Brother Jonash said again. “I would rather you had seen the Instructional vid on the Chastity Devices here, in case you had any questions, but I think you’ll be able to figure it out. So for now, I’ll take you both to your Work Assignments. We still have a lot to do before we can hear the Prophet speak tonight!”
He led the way out of the small theater and Mia didn’t know what else to do but follow.

They were fucked and Sev knew it. Now he understood the real reason the Docking Cave was so far from the Dome and why access to the ships was restricted.
Should have listened to my fucking instincts,he thought grimly as they finally left the Inner Sanctum.Now we’re fucking stuck here and I’ve got no weapons or any way to get us out!
Not only that, the fucking perverted Elders expected him to “train” his partner to sexually service him and obey his every whim.
