But whatever was showing on his face made her snap her hand back fast.

“Here we are.”

“The Dragonfly Tea Shop?” Mulberry read the sign on the cute wooden building.

“Yes.”

She clapped her hands together. “I love cafés. Do they do specialty drinks?”

“They have a ton of tea,” Nick said.

He held the wooden door open for her. The interior of the tea shop resembled a forest, with tables in the shape of tree stumps and stools that looked like tree logs.

Nick didn’t really get the appeal, but he’d heard Kayleigh, Quinn’s sister, talk about how charming Dax’s sister’s tea shop was.

He frowned, realizing Kayleigh and Mulberry were about the same age.

“Wow, this could be a set. It’s so cute!” Mulberry peered at the pastry cases decorated with woodland creatures on the outside.

Two pastry cases and, behind the counter, a whole wall of tea in jars.

“Hello!” A petite woman with dark hair came out from the back.

“Hello, Daisy,” Nick said. “I’m a pal of Finn’s.”

“Yes, I remember,” Daisy smiled. “Nice to see you again. What can I get you two?”

“I’d love to try your lavender tea, and I’ll take a dark chocolate cookie.”

“Can I just have something, not tea?”

Mulberry laughed.

“There’s pop and sports drinks in the cooler,” she grinned.

“When you’re in the Dragonfly Tea Shop, you should have tea!”

“Yeah, not my drink.” Nick grabbed a sports drink and paid for their order.

Mulberry admired the art on the walls and examined the pottery figures on the shelf.

When the chime above the door sounded, she tensed.

“Hi Daisy, so glad I got you before closing time.”

“Debra, I’m open till nine tonight. Your usual?”

“Yes, please.”

Debra smiled at Nick and Mulberry. “Have you tried the cranberry apple tea? It’s like fall and Christmas in a cup.”

“Next time,” Mulberry smiled.

Daisy passed Mulberry her tea and cookies, Nick waved bye, and they went out the back door.

“Is this a maze?” The delight in her voice was so pure Nick wanted t to kiss her.

“Yes, a spiral hedge maze leads to the garden. You were relieved that lady didn’t recognize you?”
