“Fuck yes, baby. Just like that.” He grips my hips, moving my body faster. His thumb finds my clit, and when he rubs hard and faster, I come undone, arching back until I surface again. “Jesus,” he hisses. “That was so goddamn hot.”

Blushing at his words, I lean on top of him and devour his lips. With my forehead pressed against his, I increase my pace, knowing he’s close. “Yes, right there, babe. Don’t stop,” I encourage him when he slams into me, our bodies slapping together loudly. Moments later, he stalls, digging his fingertips into my skin and groaning out his release. I love watching him, the way the veins in his neck pop, and how tense his body goes.

“Christ, sweetheart.” Mason breathes out, his arms going limp next to him. Then he brings a hand up to my face and rubs his thumb along my cheek. “I fucking love you so much.”

I shift and slide off him, falling into his arms as we lie side by side. “I love you, Mason. I can’t believe we’re getting married!” I squeal because I’m pretty sure I’m still in shock.

“I can’t wait, baby. You’re going to be the future Mrs. Holt. Damn, that sounds hot.”

“Sophie Holt.” I test it out. “Mr. and Mrs. Mason Holt.” I grin. “Mrs. Mason Holt.”

Mason chuckles as I practice out loud with a cheesy grin on my lips. “Better stop that. You’re getting my dick hard again.”

I snicker, snuggling into his side and wrapping my arm over his chest. “So…do you propose on all your first dates?”

He shakes his head, laughing. “Only on my very last first date.”

Three days fly by way too quickly. Every moment we spent at the resort was perfection. From the fancy dining and boat rides to the hiking and the midnight room service, it felt like a honeymoon before the wedding. In fact, I even suggested that we get married there.

Knowing Hunter and Lennon are getting hitched after the baby is born means we’ll hold off on making any plans for a while. Plus, it gives me more time to break the news to my parents. We want to enjoy being together and not rush this. Everything is perfect as is, but knowing we’re building a future together makes me the happiest woman in the world right now.

“So you think the house is still standing?” I tease as Mason takes the final exit off the highway before we get to our street.

“Well, he didn’t leave any frantic voicemails, so I’m thinking it’s safe.”

“Think my sisters will be surprised to hear the news? I can’t wait to tell them!” I gush, smiling just thinking about it. They’re going to lose their minds.

“I think they’ll be surprised but not shocked. They know we’re meant to be.” Mason smirks, still capable of sending butterflies to my stomach by just looking at me. I’m so damn happy, I feel like my heart will burst out of my chest.

Mason parks in the driveway, and we both grab our luggage from the trunk. “Let me grab them for you, fianceé.”

“Ooh, that sounds weird.” I giggle. “Fiancé.” I try it out. “I suppose I could get used to it, though.” When I hand him my bag, he leans down and gives me a quick kiss.

“Broke all kinds of first date rules for you.” He winks.

“Don’t tell me you get married on the second date…” I tease, shutting the door.

His smirk deepens. “Don’t tempt me, sweetheart. We’ll get a marriage license and call Aunt Sylvia right now.”

My eyes widen, and he chuckles. Before I can respond, Maddie flies out the front door with her arms open as she races toward me.

What the hell?

“Ahhh! Lemme see! Lemme see!” She’s screaming, and I have no idea why.

“What?”

Maddie nearly tackles me to the ground, but Mason catches me before I can fall. “The ring! Let me see!” she says between catching her breath. When I furrow my brows at her, she continues, “Oh my God. You said yes, right? Shit, did Mason chicken out?”

“How did you know about the ring?” I ask, then glance over my shoulder at Mason. “I thought you said you only told Liam?”

“Yeah, and Liam told me,” Maddie explains.

Mason growls, shaking his head.

“Okay, well, to be fair, I made him tell me,” she adds, which makes me laugh. I don’t doubt for a second that Maddie could squeeze information out of Liam or anyone, for that matter.

“And why are you here?” Mason asks as we all walk into the house. That’s the question of the hour every time she’s over, which causes me to laugh.

“Well…there was a fire on campus and—”

“What?” I squeal, interrupting her. “Did your apartment burn down?”

“No, thankfully. The one next to us, however…anyway, they evacuated us because of smoke damage. I packed all my shit and called Liam.”
