But at that moment in time, I didn’t care.

I might later when she was relieved from her job… but right now? I was in heaven.

I was so lost… so fuckin’ happily lost.

“Oh, God, yes,” I growled, latched on to her hips and came.

I pulled out long moments later, loving how my release poured out of her satisfied hole.

“Don’t clean up,” I ordered when I pulled away and tucked myself into my jeans. “You let that drip from you the rest of the day.”

She lay there, panting, on the desk.

I grinned.

“You okay?” I asked, smoothing my hand up her ass before pulling back and giving her a firm slap.

“Yeah,” she croaked. “Just… worn out.”

I zipped and buckled, then walked to her panties and shoved them in my pocket.

“You can’t keep those,” she grumbled. “I need those.”

I smiled and walked around to the other side of the desk so I could get to her face.

“You gotta go back to work, sweet girl,” I said. “And I have one more stop to make at my parents’, and then I’ll meet you at home.” I eyed her as I said this, hoping to see what I needed to see in her eyes when I said ‘home.’

She smiled a sweet smile, one that gave me the confirmation that I needed, and said, “Yes. I’ll meet you at home.”

She pushed up onto her forearms, then went to stand.

Her cheeks were flushed and pink and those lips of hers looked like she’d gotten lip injections. So pink and plump.

I tucked a piece of hair behind her ear as I said, “You want this, right?”

She blinked at me, then nodded. “I’ve wanted this since before I was old enough to realize what want was.”

Fuckin’ same.

I didn’t need words. I didn’t need declarations or promises. I didn’t need anything from her but the reassurance that she was in this with me. The rest would come with time.

“Come on,” I said as I tucked the stray hairs back into place on her head. “Time to be adults.”

She rolled her eyes, then squirmed deliciously as she said, “I feel you everywhere.”

My eyes likely gleamed as I said, “Good.”

The return to the diner proved to be exactly what I thought.

Everyone knew what we’d been doing.

Luckily, it was only Cassius and Shawna.

They both wore amused looks on their faces when we got to the front.

“Don’t say a word,” she ordered the two.

“Hey, I didn’t say a word.” Shawna grinned.

“Uh-huh,” Luce muttered and walked to me, placed a kiss on my cheek, then said, “Gotta go pee. Don’t want a UTI. But call me when you’re done with what you’re doing? I’ll get Cassius to drop me off at home?”

Home.

“Yeah,” I said. “Home.”

She went onto her tippy-toes, placed a soft kiss on my lips, then swayed her sweet ass to the bathroom.

I waited until she was behind the closed door before heading out after calls of goodbye.

The ride to my parents’ house took all of five minutes—Accident, Florida, was a very small town.

My dad was waiting for me outside when I got there.

He jerked his head up at me with greeting when I pulled up.

“You got here in good time,” he said as he shoved a bag into his car. “I’m picking your mother up in ten. You need me to walk you through the chore list your mom left you?”

I shook my head. “No. I think I can figure out how to read it, Dad. She probably left detailed notes.”

“You know she did,” he said as he walked into the house, leaving the door open for me to follow.

I did, finding him walking straight to the counter where he snatched something off of it.

“Here,” Dad said as he placed a black box into my hand. “This is your mother’s first engagement ring.”

The one that Dad had refused to give to Braxton.

“We’re not quite there yet,” I said.

Instead of handing it back to him, though, I curled my fist around the box.

“I know.” Dad smiled. “But I think we can both see where it’s going.”

He could read the writing on the wall just like I could.

This was definitely going somewhere. Somewhere that was looking more and more permanent with each hour that I spent with her.

I took the ring out of the box then and stared at it. “There’s no way this’ll fit her finger.”

It was massive. My mother had big hands for such a small woman.

“Then get it sized,” he suggested. “But find out her finger size first. Don’t waste your time until you know that. And give me that box back so I can put your mom’s birthday present in it.”

I pulled the ring out of the box, shoved it into my pocket and then tossed him the box back.

He caught it, winked, and then turned and gave me his back. “Drive safe, kid. I’ll see you next week at work, right?”
